I have seen bandage bows on the tendon area on the back of the leg, and I have seen it on the back of the leg and just a little on the front of the cannon bone. BUT Can Bandage bows be JUST on the front of the cannon bone?

Yes--that is a tendon, too.

Bandage bows are nasty things. My nice hunter has been left with white scars down the back of his previously unblemished legs as well as white hair in several areas up the front of the cannon. I think the white hairs and scars indicate where the pressure was the worst. He is ,thankfully, sound.

I am dealing with what I think is one right now. From a frickin fly boot.
Horse is sound but it is carrying heat and gets a nasty lump if it isn't done up. I am entered in a CT this weekend...I am seriously considering scratching. Ugh.
This horse is a delicate flower anyway, I would rather be safe than sorry.
I have only seen one other bandage bow, and it was not on the front of the cannon. Seems odd, though.
Sorry OP, not much help. just a vent.

I did not call it a bandage bow though I guess you could have. I caused one on just the cannon when I was wrapping my mare's leg because she had stitches. She ended up with a lump for a while and a scar (white hair) where the lump was. She was never lame on it.

It could also be a blister. Once a vet thought that there were bows on my horses front legs but they ended up being blisters. The horse was not lame with them, actually even more sound. I have seen blisters from thin skin of a TB getting too hot while wearing fly boots during a hot day on turnout.
The blisters can be on the front.
