Just wondering how everyone's plaid Rhino sheets have held up. I did a search and saw some not so rave reviews of them, but they're on sale in Dover for $99. I was just going to buy an Amigo for next fall/winter, but saw these.
Did anyone's sheet hold up well? Do you think they're any good? My horse is turned out with a buddy, and they do play a little rough at times.
Thanks in advance!

i love my plaid rhino..... it is a rain sheet and i have had it for 3 years now i think. holding up very well.
however, that said..... i put it aside last year for the $55 amigo rain sheet. i LOVE that sheet! light weight, no lining and works a treat!
so, if i were buying a rain sheet - i would first get a amigo and then a rhino.
:)
eta: the one thing i dont like about the rhino sheet is that it has a liner - so to me it is a bit more than just a "sheet"...
however, it is quite study - so probably would be a good choice for playful horses.

I have the brown plaid Rhino wug, my horse and my donkey play like crazy and they will run around the field with my donkey hanging onto the Rhino with his teeth the entire way. It has made it through 1 1/2 years of heavy use and has no tears.

I got a blue plaid turnout sheet w/ neck cover last fall. The sheet itself held up great. The neck cover had some velcro/attachment issues.... I sent it back to Horseware and they repaired it, but it didn't get used again before spring.
Two of the other horses at the farm got the brown plaid wug sheets last year. One is in great shape, the other had a buckle on a surcingle break. In all fairness, that horse shredded a couple other straps last year (on other sheets & blankets) too.
All three of the new Rhino sheets were great as far as being waterproof
I worry about how long they'll last though. I have other Rhinos that are over ten years old and going strong. Hopefully I'll get good use out of these.

Thanks everyone!
I think I'm going to get the regular cut green one. I was thinking of the Wug, but I tried on a barnmate's 78" Rambo wug and it was really tight in the chest area and just looked awkward on him.
How is the sizing on these? I know Horseware suggests you measure them and then take 4" off, but my guy measures a 78" exactly and wears a 78"/80" in most blankets, and his 7 year old Rambo Original Heavyweight is an 81" and fits him nicely...just a tad bit long but that doesn't seem to matter. So would I be better off ordering the 78" or 75"?

I have a lightweight brown plaid wug.
My horse wore it for about a month and it was fine. He was turned out with a herd, who have a thing for grabbing blankets. He was out with them twice and the blanket has 2 or 3 rips in it. Not huge ones, but for heavens sake if I spend $170 on a blanket I want it to hold up to the other horses grabbing it a few times.
I won't buy a rhino again, unless I can get it super duper cheap- AKA under $60. This was the first blanket I paid full price on, and all the blankets I have gotten before have held up better. In the same crowd of horses.

I did the subtract 4 inches deal and, against my better judgement, I ordered a 78, it was way too tight in the chest and too short too. He always wears an 81, I should have just ordered the dang 81, that is what he has now and it fits great.
My guy does measure 81 though.

order the same size of rambo that you already know fit him as all their blankets run the same.

I think Rhinos run pretty true to size. I usually order whatever is closest to the horse's actual size without going under. Now, you need to know, I like a blanket/sheet that fits. I do not like them to be way too big and I know some folks do...

I think I'll be ordering the 78", thanks for the input!
