When I spend too much time behind the wheel, my mind wanders to strange places. :D I have a crazy thought in my head about acute laminitis and want to dig into it farther, but need a really deep, detailed, authoritative scholarly reference on the topic of vascular physiology of acute laminitis. Am going to go searching on PubMed, but perhaps someone here can point me in the direction of a good text or at least a really solid review article on the topic?

Send me you email again--can't find it right no--and I'll forward a review article from EVJ that might be useful.
Also, a lot of Pollitt's stuff is avaiable online.

I think you need to qualify the trigger factor. Laminitis from high insulin might have different vascular consequences as that from gut trigger/carb overload. Also Dr. Don Walsh gave some sage advice: realize that the horse before it has laminitis is different from the horse with acute laminitis, which is different from the horse post/chronic laminitis.

Lynn*dot*Cronin*at*yahoo*dot*com, thanks Ghazzu.
I want to focus on what is happening at the vascular level with acute laminitis. I definitely appreciate that not all laminitis is created equal, but this is strictly an academic exercise at this point. :)
Thanks for the info and names so far.
