I know there are probably a million posts on this already but I figured I'd ask again in case anyone has my saddle and/or has a fix...

I have a Vega I got new about a year and a half ago, and while it is incredibly comfy, the flaps are still pretty stiff. I've tried tons of different products but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Also, it squeaks like crazy and has since I got it (so I don't think its a tree issue...it sounds like squeaky leather anyway and not an internal problem).

Any ideas? Warm oil doesn't do much for it and I don't want to overdo it. I've tried horseman's onestep, lexol conditioner, some passier conditioner stuff and probably a few other products along the way.

Thanks!

I have an Amerigo (Pinerolo) which is only about 2 months old. It started squeaking immediately after I got it. Try baby powder behind where the stirrup bar nook (flip the saddle over in your lap and squirt a liberal amount in the behind the stirrup bar - the leather flap part.) It takes a few days for the squeaking to stop but it works.

As far as stiffness, Akene Butet creme/conditioner is amazing stuff. Have you tried igt?

I used Effax Ledercombi on my Vega when I first got it, and a liberal application of Oil (on flaps only) and Passier Ledercombi (everywhere- not at the same time). Mine broke in super fast and never squeaked unless I had a healthy dose of Sadl-tite on it.

Awesome, I'll try the powder and try to find some creme conditioners. Thanks for the tips :)
