What stallions out there are WB/TB crosses? I have had a hard time finding any?

Most warmblood stallions carry thoroughbred in their pedigree. Are you looking for a stallion with a first generation cross to thoroughbred?

Does it matter if the TB component is on the top or the bottom? And what sort of stallion are you looking for? For what discipline?

We use several sites to see the thoroughbred percentage.
Here is an example of one of my stallions:
http://www.paardenfokken.nl/pedigree.php?horseid=302757
You can see the pedigree and the percent of thoroughbred under the stallion's name. You can go more generations out to see more ancestry details.
Very useful.

Yes. For the future. Along the line of the hunter market is where I'm going, I really like 3/4TB's.

This horse has gone on to a top hunter home. He was collected at SBS for both domestic use and export, before being gelded and sold, so he could have a real career. The best of both worlds for a horse with looks and talent, IMHO.
Here he is on another useful database:

On this site you can do hypo-mating--lots of possibilities.

Well, I don't know if Windfall (trakehner/tb) would be "huntery", but he can certainly jump! He's beautiful, but I don't know much about what he throws. Just a thought.

Ironrule is half TB and half WB. He is by Ironman out of a TB mare, Miz Yenko who is by Zen by Damascus. She was a hunter and later a level 8 jumper. Ironrule is approved BWP and RPSI. Ironrule showed on the line and was national Reserve Champion for 3 year olds last year. He has started his breeding career this year.

Beste Gold is 5/16 TB, even though his immediate pedigree reads Hanoverian...While his oldest are just 5 , he is proving himself as a Hunter sire through their performance ring. His offspring are very easygoing, super intelligent and trainable, and light to ride, suitable for Amateurs and pros alike. They are winning over fences and in the hacks. Crossed with TB mares , these offspring are 67% TB, and we are very pleased with the results.

The problem is that Europeans like to cross a TB stallion to a WB mare - get a filly then cross her back to a WB for a stallion- so most EU stallions with TB in their pedigree have it along the top of the dam line. They have found that is the best way to add blood with out sacraficing quality. Not saying it's right or wrong- Just how they do it with their stock. So it'll be hard to find a stallion like what your looking for. Good luck!

This is one of this year's foals; he is absolutely amazing, and will be raised as a stallion prospect:
Sire: http://www.paardenfokken.nl/pedigree.php?horseid=302757
Dam: http://www.paardenfokken.nl/pedigree.php?horseid=303231
Personally he carries my favorite thoroughbred names; about 68% blood.

Nevada is just over 50% TB, and his 75% TB foals have been amazing.

I will second Gatsby! I'm a hunter rider and my aunt & I run a program for breeding hunters. We have TB mares, so I usually look for stallions with well-connected, strong backs and nice necks to improve on the mares. My own personal show horse is an Oldenburg-TB cross [by a First Class son, out of a Mokos xx daughter], so the fact that Gatsby was also Oldenburg/TB drew me to him.
Our three are Gabilan, Global News, and Game Point. Gabby is a year old now, and Lily & Amy were just born a week ago!

Take a look at Dutch Gold. He's 3/4 TB, 1/4 Dutch. His trot is VERY eye catching...he hasn't been used much in the US. The website is www.emcostallionservices.com, with a link there to his youtube video.

Thanks you all, you have been a wealth of information. It's interesting really, that for the most part, you kind of have to dig to find out about the TB lines. Makes it tougher for someone like me who is looking for them. I wish that so many of the TB crosses (with as much as half or more) were not listed as just "Dutch WB"... for example. Anyway, some lovely stallions, thanks!

Equinox is 3/4 warmblood and 1/4 TB. He is standing at www.jumpstartfarm.com and he is on our web site at www.serenityfarmsinc.com Great temperament, as well as very well rounded as a jumper and a dressage horse.

I've always thought that Noble Champion looked interesting. Don't know if he's the hunter sort, but he's 68% thoroughbred.

Yes, he is more of a jumper then a hunter type if you rate one versus the other. However, he is so quiet and easy going that we anticipate him doing very well in the hunters. We have him in traininng now with a dressage trainer as he is young and doing very well there. We are getting his performance requirements done with dressage. One year done and one more to go. He seems to do better in dressage the harder it gets so we will see how that goes. When he starts his jumping we were planning on having him do the hunters first and then after that, end up in the jumpers. Most likely, he will end up as a very well rounded stallion that could really do any of the three disciplines. People ask me about him as an eventer and I guess he would be good there too but I am not an eventer and that is not the direction that I am going to go myself.

I have a Noble Champion young mare and she is a super cute mover with a great hunter jump. The dam was a GP winning, Australian TB mare - who was a nice mover.

I was actually going to suggest this guy that Anne suggested....he is half TB though not an F1 cross....he is lighter in type (as compared to the heavier "older type") WBs and he does in fact have a huge jump on him. He would have no problem having a kid with hunter scope!!

Dutch Gold was a top dressage horse a long time ago (1987-1992) back when the sport was quite different. His gaits are very flat...his offspring wouldn't have the elevation required for dressage anymore. He stood in England, and had a significant number of eventers, but perhaps even more show hunters there. Of course the show hunters there are quite a different thing from the hunters here, but did you look at his video? He passes his movement on very consistently, along with throwing size and good looks without heaviness and bulk. There is a stunning filly in Florida out of a BIG Rio Grande mare who is smaller than the mare (~16.2-ish), elegant, and a lovely mover and jumper. I've just thought he could be a good hunter stallion...

Ironrule is absolutely gorgeous as a cross...I think he's about 3/4 TB 1/4 WB. It's hard to believe that this young man is not even 4 yet! He is definitely going to have a productive career ahead of him. I can't wait to see him in the ring and to see what his first crop looks like next year.

October Hill Farm bred an exquisite Coconut Grove son out of a Corrado I mare, Carino OHF. He was approved and sold to a GP rider from Mexico. Just not sure if he's standing to the public. If he is, he'd be one to consider with his type and his jump.
