I came across this website tonight while looking for information on transitioning my cat to a raw meat diet and thought I would share on here for people who might be interested. I sort of knew bits and pieces from previous research, but still didn't feel confident about adding the correct amounts of various supplements. The article is written by a veterinarian, so she knows her stuff. I had lots of questions, and they are all now answered. I just have to order a meat grinder and I'll be good to go! http://www.catinfo.org/makingcatfood.htm

Skip the grinder, unless it's for really large bones like beef bones.

Part of the benefit of the raw diet is the cat biting/tearing the muscle and chewing the smaller bones.

I can give my cat a whole chicken drumstick or thigh and he can polish it off, bone and all, no problem.

You do need to work your way up to this though.
