I am in Australia and we are very isolated here, we do have access to frozen semen but often dont really know what we are breeding

I was just wondering if there is a website or a book or somewhere where you can look up faults or problems in warmblood bloodlines, and where and what are the risks of using certain lines

would appreciate any info

I don't know about "a" site but if you Google the heck out of a stallion name you can find posts and articles. I also found offspring of stallions I like and contacted some of the owners for details. Most of the time people are more honest/open in private conversations. Also stallion owners themselves can be really helpful about what mares go good with their stallions. Posting here on a particular stallion might help. I am not a fan of the "line" idea since every proceeding generation is also half of another line and while some traits do get passed, I would still want to evaluate the stallion separately.

I don't know about other registry but the KWPN has tremendous information on each of their Approved stallion. You don't have to be a member but the best way is to have a membership to the IDS international. This magazine issued once a year the average linear scoring of the stallions offsprings. It will give you an idea of their strenght and weakness on 26 points from their shape to the qualities of the legs. It is a very good tool to help choosing the best stallion for your mare. They are a really great registry.

Dr Christman's annual book "Hannoveranner Jarhbuch Hengste" has wonderful graphs and statistics( along with an English translation) for stallions approved for Hanoverian breeding in Germany.
You can draw your own conclusions about physical traits, know the # of approved sons, SPS daughters and high performance offspring.
