Hand grazed. Has access to hay 24/7. In a stall. Is on 1 scoop of the missing link supplement with glucosamine.

i believe he gets a combined amount of 5 quarts of Equine Senior divided morning, afternoon and evening. The B/O swears that he will founder with anymore grain in combination with the hay which he claims is 21%.

There has to be something else I can give him. I just moved him to this new place at the end of may. was not ribby when he left the other barn.

I have rehabbed a lot of TBs. A skinny 5 year old TB is very unlikely to founder on a balanced but increased ration.
He is Too young and of the wrong breed to be very susceptible to insulin resistant induced laminitis. Many people just do not feed TBs enough, or they feed too-low quality feeds. .
TB's often need more fat and carbs than other breeds to maintain weight. Especially nervous ones.
And get his teeth checked and done if needed, worm him if you haven't in a while, and maybe get the vet to come do some general blood work to see if something is wrong .
If the vet finds nothing wrong, I use equine senior to get fast weight gain on skinny young horses who are not of an 'insulin resistant susceptible' breed. Then I wean them off to a lower carb feed. It is a great feed for that purpose, because of the high fat and carbohydrate but IMO really sucks for senior horses....) So if he is REALLY getting that much senior feed, I can't understand what it may be unless it is a health issue.
