Utah Trails near Bryce Canyon NP

I know there was a thread recently on that neighborhood, but too lazy to go looking for it...here's a link to pics from trail riding near Bryce Canyon last weekend. Thunder Mountain trail west of Bryce in the Red Canyon (Forest Svc), and 'Under the Rim' trail below Powell Point, north of Bryce, also on Forest Svc. They are a bit jumbled, I don't know why Photobucket won't put them up in order! Anyhow, very cool country to ride in.

I just got back from a trip there and on to Escalante and Zion. Wish I could have packed the horse in the suitcase!
We're going back in October. Do you know any good rental/outfitters for a horse trip, either a day ride or an overnight? I'd love to set one up that's more adventurous than the Bryce and Zion park outfitters.

I did a multi day trip with them through Capitol Reef park and it was fantastic. Just very well done, great riding, great horses, remote, gorgeous trails, fabulous campsite.

Do a google search or check Tripadvisor.com - I believe they list some outfits that do longer rides. (When we checked there was a week long ride into the back country. We just did the 2 hour ride at Bryce.)

It's an annual ride for us each April/May. We also do a couple of rides in Willis Canyon in the Grand Staircase Escalante besides riding in Bryce and Thunder mountain.

It a great place to get the horses out in the springtime and get them legg'd up for summer.

Hubby and I just returned from two weeks in Bryce and Moab. We also did the Thunder Mountain ride - thought it was awesome!!!! Another ride we enjoyed was with Mecham outfitters http://www.mechamoutfitters.com/ out of Tropic - went into the slot canyons in Escalante. Great horses on both rides.

You can stop posting these pics and sites any time. Now I want to go there. :D See what a bad thing you have done? I've only ridden in Utah once in 2001. A friend and I went on the Red Rock Ride. It was awesome.
