With all the rain we've had in the Northeast, those pesky gnats are worse than ever and driving my poor horse insane. Stopping short to rub his face, literally trying to "jump up" and scratch his face with his front feet, and of course tossing his head. I've tried different fly lotions, but they don't help. Before I spend the $$ to buy one of these things...has anyone ever used the Crusader Quiet Ride Masks for those muzzle masks? Are they worth trying? We don't jump...just hack out around the farm most days. Thoughts...

I use one when trailering and when riding when the bugs are bad. It seems to work well.

The Cashel Quiet Ride mask is worth it!! My mare loses her head if a single bug even comes remotely close to her - when I used to ride her (she's a pasture pet now :() I always made sure she had her mask on - it made riding a heck of a lot more peaceful and she was so much happier !! Spend the money - you'll be glad you did :) (and your horse will thank you :D).

I have one and love it. It is worth ordering the neck covering too.

I ordered the full "Bug Armor" but I can't get the neck part over my guy's head. So I'm going to have to modify it somehow.

The quarters part of it work pretty well. Especially at trot or canter. When we take walk breaks the horseflies follow his ankles, then fly up his legs and sometimes get stuck under the sheet.

I have a chestnut and would not want to go out without the Quiet Ride. Have thought about getting the long one, but haven't yet.
