Please? (oops, posted in wrong forum to start!)
Those kind of thread titles always make me feel so bossy ;)
But I would love to see pics of your tack rooms, or tack rooms you covet. I'm trying to figure out how I'd like mine to look.
Thanks!!:D

Nope, I will not post a picture of my tack room. It's an absolute mess and I'm too lazy to clean it up! You're not missing anything anyway- it's just an ordinary room with saddles, bridles and other assorted gear hanging on the walls- no innovative storage methods or anything like that.
I Googled tack room images a while back, and although a lot of photos show up, there are very few that are anything special. That link above is very cool!

I don't have a "room" per se, but a Tack Closet (or Armoire' if you prefer )

Left side is slightly narrower than right and only for saddles/bridles, etc.: http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2928127680015305252iRoiaU
Right side is for all else: http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2642222980015305252PhfIdM
And then we use a dead chest freezer, with home-made wood dividers, for grain storage: http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2874756780015305252zMbDNq

The best one I know has a Persian carpet on the floor and everything else to match, i.e. an antique dresser with a polished wooden top and lots of brass fixtures. Mine - more shall we say, workmanlike.

This is one picture of our tackroom.
Our race horse stable colors were turquoise with white and black, as is common in the SW:

The piece of marble on the table is to work on leather and has a few well placed holes just for some of the leather work that demands them.

I LOVE your saddle covers. Did you make those?? Sorry I don't have a picture of our tack room-not too much to see. There are 20ish wooden "lockers" for everyone to put their stuff it.

Thanks! :).... but, no, I didn't make them. Found them on good ol' E-bay about two years ago. They're oversize, so could fit up to an 18" Dressage Saddle, but have enough elastic Plus a drawstring to fit smaller. The fabric is nice stretchy lycra and thick. I loff them! Unfortunately I have never seen them offered since :(
I worked on the design for the "Armoire" (as we call it ) for about a year, tweaking here and there, picking up ideas as I went along. Was finally happy with what I drew, so had hubby (and his good friend who, conveniently has a radial arm saw ;)) get to work on it. Over the course of three weekends, it was done and moved to the barn. Trust me: that sucker is HEAVY!
While I don't have drawing's per se, if someone wants the dimensions and basic instructions, I'm sure hubby would be glad to oblige.

You definitely don't want to see my tackroom, unless you're interested in seeing a giant spider habitat.
But while browsing on the Equitex website, I found a nifty thing that I thought was a really good idea.
Check out the bridles on the right.

The backing folds up, so you can just pick up the entire rack and pack it up. At the very least, you could just cover them up so they don't get dusty, even if you never move the rack.

How cool is that?

And mine - being open to the elements - is more of an Ornithological Poop Study - how many species can you identify? :dead:
Now that the mulberries are ripe it has the added attraction of the random purple splash.
Oh well, I DO have a horseprint cloth to cover the saddles and prevent them being {ahem} "decorated"

I LOVE my tack room! Most of the time it is my favorite room ...except for right now since my daughters bull mastiff schredded a whole bag of beat pulp, a chair cushion and several other things because we left him in there when we went to get our hair done! ha hah..
What do I love about it?.. most of all how it is decorated. You see - it has 13' ceilings and there is:
1. art work from when my girls were in elementary school (their renditions of the horses)
2. Family (human and animal) pictures blown up into various sizes - 5x7 to poster size - all framed and all over the walls.
3. Various ribbons and awards - you know just mementos you collect from years of showing ..
I even have a hand made wooden stick horse hanging up there that belonged to the kids. The year I had to put my first Saddlebred down, my husband had a plaque made with his picture on it, a poem I wrote about him and other information too. My tack room is more than just a place that stores tack..it is kind of a big family album...which reminds me - I need to put a good picture of Chrissy in there...my beloved Corgi who died last week.
