As you know - I lost my sweet Chrissy last Friday. I miss her so very much. The vets office and staff were so kind to us and once again, they have gone above and beyond. Yesterday I recieved a sympathy card signed by the entire staff. If that were not special enough, on the inside of the card was a real paw print of Chrissy's foot!

Oh what a nice touch on the sympathy card.
I also get sympathy cards from the vet if I lose an animal, but never one with a pawprint. What a lovely idea.

Aww, that is very sweet, and made me tear up a bit.

We also get notes from the vet, and one vet in CT had a potted flower delivered to the house, we planted it in the garden and called it Dusty's flower. It was a help for my daughter to see the flower blooming and to think of the dog whenever it bloomed.

Our vet did that when we had to have our 13 year old cat put to sleep. It was such a sweet touch, and my mom had to call the vet to confirm that it was indeed Beans' paw print. We will treasure that forever.

I am glad you now have that to treasure as well.

Oh gosh Equusvilla - I wondered why I didn't hear back from you after my last email to you. I'm so sorry you lost Chrissy. (((((HUGS)))))

That was so nice of them to send a card. I remember my horse vet's office doing that for me when we lost a horse and it really meant a lot to me.

Thanks...her heart wrenching story was posted here. I still look for her every time I walk into the house and hear her at night.

My vet office sent me a beautiful flower arrangement(http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a130/JLM179/agave048.jpg) and a card. I also got a card from the other specialty vet were he actually died. I had him cremated and they included a clay block with his paw prints in it. It was very special when I got that back. He died very suddenly, so it was a big shock to everyone. :(

I haven't had a lot of reading time on COTH like I normally do and I didn't see your thread about Chrissy. I just now read thru the whole thing and have tears in my eyes. I can identify all too well as we nearly lost Woody two weeks ago and it's still so fresh in my mind. Plus, if you haven't seen the thread, I have a new dog in my life that came as a complete surprise.

Julie - I'm so very sorry to have missed a most difficult time for you - you've been thru so much already and to have to lose Chrissy seems so unfair. My tears today are for you my friend .

Thank you Susan! I posted her whole story on my blog and then copied and pasted most of it over here...that was the best I could do. Writing is therapy for me...easier than talking about it, but still very hard.

Glad to hear good things about Woody. Give him a kiss on the head from me.

Better times are ahead. I KNOW they are!

hugs!
