Frozen water bottles in trough

For those of you that freeze water in bottles and put them in the trough, do you take the cap off so the water comes out or leave it on?

My guy would fish the bottles out of the trough and throw them around the field:lol: Why go to the trouble? The volumn of water in the trough VS the volume of water in the frozen bottles just doesn't work out to do anything. If you remember your high school physics you can calculate the temperature drop with frozen water and you will find it almost nothing.

Doesn't help much but it seemed to a little. I used big orange juice containter type things. Physics is not my strong area I will admit. I will do stupider things than this I am sure!:)
