Eclipse Horse Trailers???

I am looking at purchasing a new trailer and came across this company. I have never heard of them and wanted to know if anyone elase has. Looks like a great trailer (fully insulated, all aluminum, etc...) comparable to Featherlite, Sundowner, etc... But I was wondering if anyone had more info on them than the dealers. Just wondering how they hold up and pull? They are a good bit cheaper but seem to still have all the bells and whistles. Any info would be great. Thanks!

I like that it's insulated and has rubber on the walls, and the construction seems good.

We used it quite a bit this summer and didn't have any problems.

The only negative is that her model is pretty tight for larger horses. Our Pasos fit in there just fine, but my 15.2 Paint (who is long) is a bit cramped in the first stall.

So check out the stall length if you're looking at a slant.

I have one, I really like it. Plenty big enough for my guys, it's 7' 8" tall, well insulated, hauls well. My 17 h mare can easily turn completely around in it when I make itone big box stall. My Hanoverian is 17. 2 h and he is mighty comfortable in it.

Someone on here did get a bum one, you may be able to do a search.

I have had no issues with mine.

Thanks for the input. Idlemoon which model did you get and where did you buy yours? I'm not sure what the trailer buying 'experience' is like, but if it is like car buying...:no:...ugh, not looking forward to that part.

I have the two horse slant with dressing room and I'm very happy with it. One of the reasons I bought was that I have a 14.2 Arab and it fit him. So many of the trailers in this area were way too big for him. I've hauled two similar sized horses with ease, but large horses wouldn't fit very well.

I recently bought a 2H Eclipse BP w/tack room from Cox Trailers in MD. It is the warmblood one- so extra wide, lots of extra space in front of the horse, big doors for the humans, etc.

The price seems very good for what I got. I like the trailer so far, but I haven't done much with it yet b/c of the weather. I like that you can convert it into a cargo trailer by moving the divider between the tack room and main part. The fact that you can take out the entire center part to make it into a loose box is great too.

I like that it doesn't have carpet in the tack area, which seems like it would be harder clean than the mat this trailer has. With this trailer you can just hose it out from front to back.

I'm a fan so far, but I don't have much usage to speak of. I did get extra side pads added.

I also liked that the you can remove the stall dividers and make a box stall. I was assuming, however, that most trailer these days are like that (Adam, Eby?)...am I assuming correctly?

I also saw some versions (online) with a pass-thru door built into the divider between the trailer and the dressing room. That seemed like a potentially useful feature? Anybody have experience with that type of layout?

I, too, have looked at the Eclipse (at Cox Trailer Sales in MD) and was impressed with the trailer - and the price. I'm looking at the 2H bumper pull with a dressing room.

Do any of you who have bought one have any more feedback? I would like to review the manufacturer's website, but Google highlighted it as a potential virus-loader. That said, I know their website will extoll the virtues - so feedback from you all is definitely preferred!

I would be doing mostly trips of less than two hours each way, if that makes any difference. Thanks!

I have the slant load model with the divider between the horse area and the dressing room that can be opened. I really like the trailer, though I haven't used it a whole lot, maybe 10 times, other than the "training rides" to the truck stop and back. The one thing that I would change would be getting a wider model. My sister's 15.3 h TB fits fine, but my 16.0h guy seemed a bit squeezed in (he wears a size 78 blanket), when he rides upfront. He rides in the back when both horses are loaded, so it usually isn't a big deal as there is a bit more room in that spot, since we didn't want the extra tack area. We also ordered our trailer with the aluminum floor, rather than the wood floor our model came standard with.

We first saw this brand at Congress in 07. The group of us that went were impressed with the quality, the options available, and the overall value. My sister and I bought ours November 08 and have been pleased with it. The only other thing I would change is that we should have opted for doors in the back plus the ramp. We just got the ramp and top doors and I can now see the use for full doors in the back, plus the ramp after some not so great loading episodes! But that isn't Eclipses fault, I just didn't think of it at the time we placed our order; they would have done it

Well, mine is 2 years old now and I still really like it! I do not use it a whole lot, but have had no problems so far.

I have an Eclipse WPSM, (straight-load ramp) and I love it. Lightweight enough to pull with a mid-sized pickup. Tracks well, rides steady, fits my tall and long TB, the horses load well in it.

I can take out the center divider and post, use it to haul hay or equipment. It's well-ventilated and you can travel with the rear top curtain/doors latched open for more ventilation.

I hauled it across country (San Diego to Raleigh), no problems at all even in high winds and thunderstorms.

Fit and finish wasn't as good as some of the higher-priced trailer, and I added a few items because it was kind of bare bones -- padding on the center divider, rubber edging along the fenders so a horse won't cut a knee on the edge. But I'm overall quite happy with this trailer -- good value!

Anyone know of the current floor chassis? Is it all aluminum or a steel floor chassis? As of about 6 months ago, it was steel (even though the marketing hinted that is was ALL Aluminum). I always wondered of the durability of attaching aluminum walls to a steel floor chassis.

hello, I am new to this so if I don't make alot of sense let me try again. I have a 2010 Eclipse 2Hslant, I thought I really liked it, it is easy to pull although the first horse is somewhat restricted.

Anyway, when I went to put away for winter..I live in WI, noted the top and bottom hinges have come apart! Mind you, I do not go to shows, and had it out on the road 3 times this past summer, short trips. I could understand if it was both upper or both lower, but one each end? Looked at how they were attached.....not sure how they can be fixed. Have tried contacting company, heard back she was busy selling trailers at some show and haven't heard since. Contacted the dealer where I got it, they are no longer dealers!

I've gone on long enough.....help!
