I am regretfully posting that I have to find little Steven a new home.

His thread with photos is here ..
http://www.chronicleforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=210441

He was VERY timid and shy when we got him Wednesday, but he is coming around nicely.

Please someone give this little guy the perfect home. Right now he is about 5 minutes from Radnor Hunt, right on the Chester County/Delaware County boarders in PA.

ETA: more photos of the little guy on his first outing outside

Oh dear god. I should NOT have looked at those pictures. He is SOOOOOOOO cute!

You know, my good friend ASB Stars lives relatively close to you. I have a brilliant idea....she should come over and pick him up for me, and then the two of them need to fly out here to Iowa :D I've been bugging her to come visit. Little Steven would be the PERFECT reason!

Oh dear God I want a piggie in the worst way. I SOOOOOO wish he was closer. I absolutely cannot afford to have a 6 week piggie shipped to me.

I would loff to have him. I loff piggies- I can tell you stories from my childhood visits to Iowa (hence ASB's hope that I shall visit!) However, I have a really tough rescue Springer. I am deeply concerned that, as she considers everything the horses drop to be her food (she grew up in Newark, NJ- what else can I say?) she'd do Little Steven serious harm.

This does not make my friend, asb_own_me happy- I am not visiting, nor I am bringing a piggy, but, unless I can figure out how to bring him home, and keep him safe, I can't, in good conscience, offer to give him a home.

I do NOT need a cute little pig.

I do NOT need a cute little pig.

I do NOt need a cute little pig.

Although he would be amusing to have around (I am laughing just imagining the Oldenmare's reaction) - and about as useful as the chickens I got for my nieces (total pets) - he is (most fortunately) too far away from me.

Hope you find a good home!!!

Do you think he would mind if his name was changed to Arnold Ziffel?

(this is of course dependent upon my ability to con ahemem persuade my DH into allowing him to come live with us)

Oh boy, I'm in SE Chester County but never wanted a pig, wouldn't know what to do with one. If I can think of anyone around here that would like him I'll let you know.

Looking at the pics he is older then 6wks....also has he been neutered yet? You might try the potbellied pig rescue. These guys can not have free choice food and should be kept on a strict special diet. I have had quite a few over the years ...both my own and temporary fosters and they can be alot of fun.

Love the name change idea - or just call him "Ziffel" and see if anyone gets it!

Hhhmm - anyway to get him to the DC area - I could always drive that far and pick him up..... although what I'd do with a swine.... at least I live on a farm. Could go with the feline and the equine I've gotten off this forum, too.

Oldenmare (who apparently has "sucker" engraved on her forehead - she just can't see it for herself).

he is not neutered yet, I got him only a few days ago. I dont even think he has dropped yet (do pigs even drop? Im assuming so). the man said he was 6 weeks, although the photos make him look much larger than he really is. I have new ones I am uploading now that I will post.

hmm .. oldenmare .. my brother lives in DC.. he is due for a visit home soon, maybe I can sneak him into his car on the way back!

as for the name change .. do as you please ;] he just looked like a steven to us all locked in his little chicken cage where he couldnt even stand up ;[ it was a sin.

Well, Fleur, if you haven't placed him by time your brother comes home, I'm certain we can work out an arrangement.

Think I'll call him "Ziff" for short... maybe "Ziffy".

There is a place in Bucks County, PA that does pot-belly pig fostering as a part of a group called the Pig Placement Network. Seems like a pb pig rescue.

Ross Mill Farm would be a good place to start. Susan Armstrong is the woman you would want to contact (she runs Ross Mill), she is seriously committed to PBP rescue and education and is a nice person to boot!
