As I sit here enjoying a quiet Saturday evening alone, I have discovered the most amazing website! I actually stumbled upon it at work today. If you go to the MSN homepage, then click on "maps", you can enter in any address you'd like. If you select the birdseye view, you won't believe the detail that comes up! I'm torn between the utter lack of privacy (you can actually see the individual horses in the fields, etc), but it is VERY amazing to be able to see behind the gates of Calumet Farm. I was ecstatic to see the graveyard! I can't even imagine how much time I'll "waste" pouring over the horsey estates that I've always wanted to see! So far, I've only gotten throught Calumet and Keeneland ;) I checked out my own property, and determine that the view was taken in spring of the past 2 years.

Just thought I'd share with everybody! Sorry in advance if I'm viewing any COTHer's farms.

Well you can't see ours. I put in our address and it still shows it as a farmfield  Even our neighbors places aren't there yet in their view. That means its 5 or more years old

I've tried some other towns, and it doesn't offer me the birdseye view. I guess it's a work in progress. I know the view of our farm was taken between spring 2007 and spring of 2009 because of the layout. I also noticed "The Castle" outside of Versailles KY looked like it was near complete, so it couldn't have been taken too long ago either.

When you get further out into the country that option isn't available, which is too bad. I used all those aerial mapping programs when I was farm shopping and for a while when I thought I might be buying a multiple housing unit in town to save commute costs. Yahoo, two different versions of Terraserver, like that. Google is iffy on the resolution.

The one I really wish had better resolution was the 1997 version, because I have been dying to find out exactly where the old house was. God knows there is enough broken glass and iron junk scattered over about two acres here. I really don't want to break into the old debris filled basement or something like that when I go to pour a foundation for some new structure.
