I will be moving my horse to Smyrna or Suwanee this Fall. I am pretty unfamiliar with these areas, so if anyone has boarding barn recommendations I would appreciate it. My budget is small, so pasture board is preferable. Good pasture. I've seen a barn or two in Smyrna with 20 horses on a field appropriate for 5 with shoddy fencing and nothing but dirt. I really need help finding a suitable place. A 10 to 15 minute drive would be preferable, but if there's a great place just a little further I don't mind driving. Thanks!!
Edited to add: I am close to Marietta, so Marietta-area barns are also an option

I'd suggest checking Area III website, GDCTA website or www.stablemates.com. They all list resources for boarding. I've been in Atlanta for a while, but the Marietta-area is a bit out of my circle so can't direct you to any place specific. BTW, Suwanee and Smyrna aren't exactly next to each other -- Smyrna is close to Marietta, but not Suwanee.
Good Luck!

I know they're fairly far apart, but I don't know if I'm going to stay where I am now (Smyrna) or get an apartment closer to where I'm going to school (Suwanee) so I need to look in both places. Thanks!!

Smyrna is on one side of Atlanta, and Suwanee is on the other side of Atlanta. I would suggest finding a place to live closer to school. Your commutes are going to be absolutely horrendous otherwise.
www.stablemates.com
www.gahorse.com
are two good websites to find boarding places.
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/grd is also another good place.

advertise on AREA III classifieds for a small, private barn near your school - you might be able to even trade out riding/barn chores for your horse's board! I wish I was in your vicinity!!!!
