I'm jumping over from the eventing board looking for suggestions on half pads to try. Here's the situation.... My guy is currently going through yet another growth spurt and is a little butt high at the moment. It's making my dressage saddle sit funny on him and tipping me forward in the process. I was riding with Jeremy Beale a few days ago, and he immediately picked up on what was going on and told me that I needed to get something with shims in the front to pick the saddle up. I have one of the fleeceworks half pads which I absolutely love, but I don't really like using it with my dressage saddle because it's soooo fluffy. I feel like it puts way too much material between the saddle and the horse. Do you guys have any suggestions on saddle pads or half pads to try that will lift the front of the saddle?

If you need front lift, the best one I've used (besides the $$$ thinline/mattes correction pad) is the Roma Lift Front Pad. Its foam, holds up well, and seems to actually do its job. It's contoured so it stays up in the gullet and off the withers- and you can't beat $35.

That's actually one of the ones I was looking at. I'm glad to hear that I might be able to fix this issue inexpensively. :)
