I need to raise the back of my saddle a bit. The balance is not quite right despite the saddle fitter checking the fit back in April (it's a Bates Momentum, BTW). I suspect my horse might be changing condition rapidly as he is coming back from an injury.

I am considering Ecogold (on its way to me) Thinline Trifecta, Mattes Corrector, and a Cashel Wedge Pad. Does anyone have any feedback on what might be the best solution?

I have had two custom saddles made (one jumping, one dressage, two different companies) and both of them had a negative influence on my position, so I am very leary of going this route again, but will consider it once I sell something (I am the not so proud owner of 6 saddles at the moment).

I would go with the Mattes Correctional Pad. They are so, so nice. They come with lots of wedges and you can even get memory foam for them. I haven't used the other brands you mentioned, but I use my Mattes pad on a regular basis and love it, it does an amazing job. I have a saddle that doesn't quite fit my horse correctly, and I use the Mattes pad to bump it up in the back. Last fall my horse had a massage and the therapist poked all around for sore spots and could find none - I contribute that to the amazing Mattes pad.

I just ordered an Ecogold and am quite impressed by it. Very, very nice pad.

I am old school. Old folded hand towel under the back of the saddle.
