Will be attending show there shortly with 2-3 horses and have not been to that venue before. Actually, have not been to an "away" show in a long long time.Any tips on what I need to remember to bring as far as the stabling area goes, besides the usual buckets, snaps, tack hangers, etc.? i.e. hose? fans? (are electrical outlets plentiful?)wheel barrow or muck buckets (depends on how far away is the manure dump)? Are there feed/hay stores nearby?

Any advice to simplify my packing to this particular venue would be greatly appreciated!!!

Mostly permanent stalls, slight chance of some tent stabling, manure is close to stabling, outlets are plentiful, and there are 3 feed/hay stores within 5 minutes.

Flies are bad though,so bring lots of fly spray. And bring some toilet paper, the porta potties never seem to have any by sunday...lol

Highfields is a very good facility. Footing is good, jumps are nice, show rings are big, schooling rings are ample, permentant stabling very nice.

I definitely agree with the toilet paper suggestion! Another thing that seems to run out before the weekend is trash cans. At least near the barn we're always in, the hermit barn, the trash cans always seem to be full.

It can be so hot. Make sure to bring fans and a big cooler. There is a gas station right behind the show grounds where you can fill the coolers up with ice. (also has a clean air conditioned bathroom) There are outlets but you need long extension cords, don't forget the 3 prong splitter for the end. Muck baskets are fine, manure pile is close by. Chairs, pop up tent.

Almost forgot, the feed stores are not open on Sunday and I believe they close at 12 on Saturday...

If you don't have a golf cart, take your bike. The show office is a pretty long walk from the stables. It is nice to have your bike for the last minute entries and scratches.

They used to have a golf cart rental set up at the show. Did not see it last trip. You can probably call the office and find out about renting one. May be you can order them in advance. I take mine and it is a life saver in the heat.

This is one venue where I would rather be in the tents -- the stall doors in the permanents are very narrow for the bigger horses.

But all in all, Highfields is a nice venue.
And Aiken is GREAT.

Boots Bridles and Britches is open until 4 and so is Tractor Supply, but they do not carry a full line of feeds and hay. But in an emergency they might have some stuff a H/J person might need like fly spray or vet wrap or hay cubes.
