Do any of you guys recommend any really slimming white breeches? At the last horse show I participated in, I was really horrified with how fat my butt and thighs looked in the white breeches. It literally made me want to cry, and I didn't want to look at the pictures of me anymore.

However, I do have a pair of breeches that have a black seat, which helps hide some of my fatness. Any suggestions? Also, is there any type of control top breeches so that my fat stomach also looks slimmer?

IMHO two-toned breeches do not make people look slimmer.
I think they draw attention to the 'problem area'.

I agree re. the 2 tone. I'd suggested getting a great pair of breeches in the size you are NOW (not the size you used to be in high school) and then be proud that you are out there showing.

wbhorse, I can empathize, I have no business - none whatsoever - parading around in public in tight white pants. That said, I have decided to do so nonetheless, and found that Trainer's Choice britches are as flattering as tight white pants can be. At least, when I tried them on, my first instinct was not to claw out my own eyes. The pair I bought actually have a little extra room, just a tad - more flattering, I think, than the stuffed sausage look really tighty whities produce.

Anyhoo, good luck!

I cannot STAND white breeches - they make me want to cry. Worse, however, are tight white show shirts when they waive coats. ARGH! My tropical rider breeches are reasonably flattering when worn with spanx or smartslims, and they are cool! I've tried those Kerrits things and they made my butt sweat.

I have a photo of myself in beige britches taken 25 years ago. It shows that globby orange peel on the back of my thighs.

I wanted to destroy it.. but kept it as a reminder in my old lesson book. I think of it often when I am pigging on goodies.

I am jogging 3x a week and my thighs looked really good in the photos I recently had taken. Less food and more exercise. What a miserable concept!

I now have the problem with age induced flabby shaking on the front of my thighs. So, I don't wear shorts often, nothing I can do for that. I even spoke with my neighbor who runs marathons and is 50 yrs old. She has the same problem. Argh, age got to me!

Spanx, SmartSlims, Hanes Go Figure (those are my favorites) will all help compress and shape. I wear champagne colored show breeches instead of whites. Not quite as awful looking. I used to HATE viewing show tapes with my jiggly thighs. The Hanes Go Figure helped with that.

Thatmoody, you mean those Kerrits breeches with the pleather seats? Those ARE nasty!

No, the TR extreme (which is what I have) is a smooth, slightly heavyweight fabric. But it wicks like crazy, and I swear my bottom was cooler than my top in them. I do wear them with my Target Assets (a Spanx product that's cheaper) which are like bike shorts, and that helps with peel. Here's a picture of me in them - PLEASE don't laugh at the sausage sides - I am working on that :D.

They are just about the most flattering ones I have. I also have a pair of the Irideon cadence fullseats but they're not as cool. Maybe a bit more slimming (if anything gigantic and white can be said to be slimming) but hot, and I'm in Florida!

Yes, those are the Kerrits of which I speak :D. Nasty things, and bum sweat is NOT pleasant to ride in.

Freakin' gorgeous horse - I wish he were mine :D. Florida-bred Oldenburg, he is, by Lautrec out of a mare called Anastasia. He's my trainer's boy - I only ride him since he's kinda green.

Oh, and he's a monster. I last sticked him at 17.2 and I know he's grown since then.

I have a pair of Golden Dress white breeches with a black full seat. I don't necessarily think they slim me in person, however I will say I was beaming when photos returned from our show. Riding on a black saddle my thighs and butt looked SO much thinner! Every time I look at the photos it actually motivates me to get my booty back into yoga so they can look that great in real life! LOL So, if you are self concious then give it a try by all means. Mine defintely looked better than plain, solid colored breeches in photos without a doubt. I haven't tried the SmartSlims yet but hear wonderful things and will be ordering a pair to wear with my white/black breeches! Best of luck and try to remember...99% of us are also feeling self concious and cursing whoever decided white or light colored breeches should be worn in shoes. Best of luck to you! :D

I love my Equissentials white with black leather seat. In pictures they really make the legs look thinner against the black saddle. It is quite remarkable.

They are not necessarily flattering when one is walking around off the horse.
