I have 2 Grand Prix show coats but I cannot figure out what sizes they are. I am thinking about getting a new show coat and am considering getting another GP as the ones I have now both look lovely. The problem with them is one is probably 15+ years old (a hand-me-down) Navy with multi-colored (green, red, blue) pin stripe and I feel it's a bit out of fashion. The other one is a gorgeous, plain Dressage coat with 4 silver buttons that I got 3-4 years ago when I was eventing, I feel like this would look rather out of place in the jumper ring.
The Dressage coat is very form fitting and extremely flattering and the Navy Hunt coat fits well but is a bit looser...problem is I cannot find anywhere on the tags what sizes they are for possibly ordering another one. I have poured over the tags and the only possible thing I see is what appears to be a 0 (on both of them) which I feel cannot possibly be right because Dover says order 2-3 sizes larger than normal and their sizes started at Ladies 10. I am rather petite at 5'2" and wear a size 22 Ariat Breeches (24 on a fat day). Can anyone help me out?
I haven't ruled out looking at other brands so any suggestions are welcome, a friend has a nice looking RJ but I have no experience with TS or Ariat.

TS and RJ both use street sizing (so if you wear a shirt size 4, you'd wear a jacket size 4).
GP and Ariat use UK (i think?) sizing, and its a bit larger.
What size ratcatcher do you wear? That will give us more of any idea of your size than your breech size.
For example, a 12 Jacket is a 34 shirt, 14 is 36, etc.

If you wear a size 8 in street clothes a Grand Prix coat in a 14 will probably fit you.

I believe most of my show shirts are a size 30. So that would translate down into an 8. I don't understand why none of the tags say what size the coats are, maybe I need my vision checked. Does your GP coat have the size written on it anywhere? (if you have one)
In regular clothes (jeans, pants) I usually wear a size 0.

My daughter wears a 10R in Grand Prix and a 0R in R.J. Classic. She is 5'4" and about 100 lbs. She wears a 0 in regular clothes. Can you go to a tack store and try some on to get the size?

Sadly English tack stores do not exist where I am living for the summer (hooray for mississippi). I'm about to head to England for a month of riding, maybe I'll happen upon a good coat in a tack shop while I'm over there.

I wear a street size 0/2 and a shirt size 32, and my GP coat is a 10T (I have a small build but am tall). That would make you approximately my size but shorter so if I were you I would try a 10R, or 10 Petite/Short if they make one. RJ coats run pretty true to street size - I have one in a size 2.

These comments sound about right. I'm 5'5 and weigh about 115 and wear a Grand Prix size 12 and a 34 shirt. In street clothes I'm about a 2/4. I have two Grand Prix coats, both of which I bought used, and I love the way they fit. If I had the money or need I'd get another.

You are probably an 8 or 10... My sizing is similar to that of EAY and I wear a 10..
Does anyone know is the Ariat sizing is exactly the same as Grand Prix or if it runs a little smaller?

I recently stumbled upon this
http://www.ariat-europe.co.uk/EN-size_table-8.html
I know it says ariat europe but it had such a lovely size chart and the US site had no such thing that I could find. According to this all of my things line up with size 8 exactly, but no idea if they run big/small.

My Ariat Legacy coat is a 14, and I am a solid 6 in street clothes. I feel like it is on the big side though, as far as comparing GP coats in the same size. It is wonderfully comfortable and the shoulders are super easy to move it!

On the inside of your coat it should be hand written what size it is, on a little tag

Hey new best friend.
I feel a little dumb for not seeing this before! My Dressage coat was an 8R but all the hand writing on the Hunt coat is washed away (it is really old, feeling slightly less dumb), I can faintly make out what I think is a 10, maybe 12. Mystery solved! many thanks
