I am helping someone to find a place for her young son to board his horse and take lessons.

Any recommendations? Send pro or con to oakstable@gmail.com.

Thanks.

The only place I know of in Norco is www.pepperglenfarms.com They have nice schooling shows there. Training isn't exactly "A" show quality. I also found an article about Emerald Bay Farm, I haven't seen it but know someone that rides there and is happy: http://www.ridingmagazine.com/riding_onlinemag/articles/2008_10/emeraldbay.htm

If that is what they are looking for, I suggest going to Chino Hills where there are a lot more options for good H/J trainers.

I ride with Emerald Bay Farms with the trainers Mary Nicita and Kelly James and I love it! If you interested, im pretty sure Mary has room there! Both Mary and Kelly are awesome and knowledgeable trainers and are very kind :D

Also, they go to both County(GSDHJA/OCHSA) and "A" shows.

I have a friend who rode with Mary at Emerald Bay as a Junior. She was very happy there.

Lots of decent H/J barns in Orange County, it can be a bit of a drive though depending on the time of day.

Pepperglen's Hunter Jumper trainer was injured pretty badly. Not sure when she will be back. Other barns in Norco are Stacey Turner's and Cornerstone Equestrian along with Emerald Bay. Eventhough I live in Norco, my daughter rides in Chino Hills. It is not a bad drive as you can go through the dairy area and not take the 91 Freeway or the 60 Freeway. It is about 16 miles one way from my house. I live on the west side of the 15 Freeway. My daughter rides with Kristy Miller of Blackstar Equestrian. She is at W Farms in Chino Hills.

The mom definately doesn't want to drive into Orange County.

Since this is a young boy, it would be nice if there were other boys too but that's probably too much to hope for.

Thanks for the tips.
