Who will be there on Sunday? The website appears to be down right now, maybe they are posting entry status. Looks like there will be scattered storms all week, including event day, but hopefully not enough to put a wrench in the works. I'm hoping for ice cream and/or the the smoothie lady.

I will be there! I'm totally excited... hunter girl gone wild here!
AND I'm taking a CANTER adoption program horse. So, it could be very entertaining for the whole family! (er, especially given how he was on the trails yesterday... if that's any indication, I'll need to use lots of sticky spray on my boots!)
Dumb unrecognized event question- are coats required for dressage? Or could I use one of those sporty little zip polo shirt thingies?
(not that I mind, since I actually own a dressage coat, but that stock tie thing is mystifying to me).

Actually, this is one of my favorite (new) rules -- even for RECOGNIZED horse trials, if you do all three phases in one day, you NEVER need to wear a jacket or stock tie (if you wear a jacket, then you need a stock tie...). A sporty zippy thing will be just fine :D

So, like, this (http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-2047&ids=769463465)would be OK?
Not that it matters much what I'm wearing... heheeee

Waredaca is a great event to volunteer at. Donuts, snacks, attentive volunteer coordinators, Waredaca $$ ($25 certificate that can be used for schooling, entries, gear, etc).

Since the website is experiencing some difficulties right now, I thought I would spread the word.
1) Waredaca.com is experiencing some glitches. If you can't log on to get your times, and need to know them, email Margaret at margaret@mythiclandingevents.com.
2) Due to the persistent rain, parking on Saturday for the course walk will ONLY be in the WEST ENTRANCE gravel parking area near the start of the XC course. Maps will be located at the Start Box for you. The Novice course will be a single page and the BN and E maps will be on the same page, different sides. Those wishing to walk the jumping course will need to WALK to the ring. Please DO NOT drive anywhere on the Waredaca property other than In and Out the West Entrance on Saturday. As a reminder, no packets are available until Sunday Morning.
3) IF THERE IS LARGE AMOUNT OF RAINFALL ON SATURDAY, a decision will be made by 5:30 am Sunday morning as to whether the event will be canceled or not. This decision will be the result of how wet our parking area and cross country courses are and if we can access the entire property by our emergency Vet and Medical services if need be. IF WE CANCEL, WHICH WE HOPE NOT TO DO, all checks will be destroyed, thus your entries fees are fully refunded. Call our Business Number 570 4191 or check the website for this decision.

I am bumping only because I am SO excited and had such a great time. I'm so tickled the rain held off Saturday night, and that everything went so well. I'm still all rosy cheeked from my first time, I think.
Now to get Mr. CANTER pony to some more public events, so we can learn about how to ride in warmups, hehe
(for my way too thought out update, see the klondike blog below....)
Anyhoo, thanks again to Waredaca and organizers and volunteers, and Gifford's Ice Cream (holy yum). :)

Yes, Waredaca and all the great volunteers, did it again! Wow, they are such a generous, hardworking, and kind group.
Big big thanks to Mythical, Nowoncourse, Pharmgirl, Mustang 51, Asterix etc etc for suggesting the starter horse trial, collecting great prizes, helping me tack up, walk courses at spur of the moment, hold whips and water, lend stud tools, stay calm (sort of!!), find the farrier, cheer me on, laugh at my tail clipping job and old lady huffing and puffing, get wayward XC riders back on course, and help me Hold my breath for final results.
Here is to the other Man of the Hour himself - Fritzy - who for one glorious moment in his life was allergic to wood, and survived his return to competition.
I think I have died and gone to heaven for about the fifth time. :D:D:D:D:D
Thank you Waredaca Volunteers!
