One Last Try-
New Pictures posted on post # 10

I picked up Rose when I was at the track this weekend. She needed to leave and I had a trailer. (The horses I was supposed to pick up all won or placed second this weekend as long shots so they had to stay.)
She is 16.1h+. She has raced 3 times and chipped her knee. The chip is in the bottom of the joint. Very big bodied. She hasn't had anything done to her since she chipped. (Including feet) She has been stalled. Owner didn't want to deal with the rehab and bringing her back. I have her papers and a negative coggins. Her legs are cold, clean and straight. She doesn't seem to have any vices that I have seen. She loves loves loves people and is very easy to work around even when coming to a completely new place. She loaded quietly on a 2h straight load. Her feet need some work. All toe and no heel right now. I have a quote to have the chip removed I got this morning from the vet hospital if anyone is interested. She walks and jogs sound and there isn't any heat but it would be better for her future to have the chip taken out.

Pictures: sorry it was getting dark - she is built up hill but standing in deep footing.

I got part of the vet report and the films are in the mail. Vet stated that she could either be given time off or the chip could be taken out. If either was done she could be returned to race training or full use. She has yet to take an off step at home. She even followed the lawn mower around the round pen yesterday. No vices. Big mover. Powerful shoulder and hind end. She had been left in a stall for 2 months after her injury. Her shoes weren't even pulled and she has still been a dream to handle on the farm.
I just found out this morning that I have several horses coming in that will need alot of attention so she really needs to find a home. (Surprise I just bought 5 more horses without knowing it.)

That is going to be a lovely horse when she is filled out! Just wanted to say that many, many times, with sufficient time off, those chips will dissolve, or mostly so. Dependent on the size and location of the chip of course. Time and rest does work wonders. Thank you for taking her in and finding a good home for her.

OK last try. I don't know alot about her. She is atleast pasture, broodmare, light riding sound. Only raced 3 times. correct. 3 white ankles and a star. 16.1+ hands big build and growing. Reasonably easy keeper for a TB.

Wow she is a pretty girl.

If I had a farm I would take her in a New York minute and let her just rest for a while.

Surely someone needs a young, good looking mare that has minimal wear and tear!

C'mon people, I see posts all the time that anything under 16 hands is too little (not for me, but...) this mare fits the bill!

is the same as the above poster. I had one that came out of a race with multiple chips. We claimed him out of that race... We injected him after showing the x-rays to one of the vets at Belmont. The vet at that time suggested we try the acid first. It worked fine and although he never raced again, he did go on and become a sucessful A/A hunter for me. The injury that ended his racing career was a bow during a work. That too posed no issues after a long time off.

This mare looks lovely! Good for you to get her off the track. She will be great for someone.

Wait where in VA are you? I may be able to help you out. I'm starting up my own sort of rescue thing out of my own pocket:)

What are you going to do with her if you don't find her a home?

I'm out in the Sumerduck area, do you know where that is? I noticed your phone number is an area code around this area. Would you be able to transport her or would I have to? Let me know!

I am moving this back up because I REALLY like this mare and hope you can get her placed before I say I want her.

I am close to you, in Floyd County, but promised myself I wouldn't add another TB until the old lady I have is no longer with me. I rescued her 5 years ago and promised her a home for life.

I hope you find her a great home but if she is still around when I get a bit of work done here on a new paddock I just may come up to take a look.
