I will be moving to the Southern Pines, NC area in a few months and wanted a few suggestions on good boarding farms in the area to check into.
Looking for full service boarding or training farms that have a good environment for dedicated adult amatures.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Well, here is what I can tell you. The best place to board in Southern Pines is with Mike Russell on Lake Bay Rd. You can hack or trailer over to Denny's, ride in the Foundation, ride in Mike's big jump field, etc. Mike is a totally dedicated horseman, the second field huntsman for Moore County Hounds, kind, caring, etc, etc. He is not an eventer but he knows all the local people and all his boarders are adult amateurs. He regularly -- as in many days a week -- takes everyone who wants to go out hacking and can regale you with stories about all the locals as well as the wildlife, and local environment.

I know that Audrey Wiggens has an opening at her place-she is an eventer and a real estate agent for Hagen & Hagen. She is great with horses. I do believe she has a jump field. She also works at Southern Pines Feed. Also my dressage trainer Lynn Doki Mioviech has some openings at her facility. No jumps but miles of trails and is 5 min from the Horse Park. There a couple of farms with fences nearby that you may be able to use and hack to.

hate you. Like there would be anywhere in Southern Pines, near Denny's, that WASN"T nice. Big sigh from here in Kentucky. Which isn't SP, but it's not Michigan either.

Fairweather, there are only two here that I think are worth anything. PM me if you'd like further information - it will be interesting to see if Christan and I agree!

Is Patricia Heukeroth (spelling may be off), still in Southern Pines? She was very good friends with my old trainer in Mississippi.
etc.

Mike is actually in Vass, and the farm is Full Cry Farm. He's a wonderful person and horseman.
