Now, I don't jump.....but I have never heard of an equestrian event called double slalom (as per the article)....can anyone enlighten me? I keep thinking of pole bending in English tack and skis!:D:lol:

I have seen in on TV at Spruce Meadows, I think it is when there is two identical jumping courses next to each other, and riders race against each other at the same time.

I was there yesterday & it was good!! :D

The double slalom is a pure speed class (the faults are turned into seconds). Both courses are identical & right next to each other (the riders go side by side each turning a different way). Basically the course is 6 fences, you go out of the start gate at the same time (when the light turns green) & go over fence one, you then have a bending line to fence two & then do a rollback to fence three (if you are on the left side your rollback is to the right or inside of the track) you then do another rollback to fence four & then go for a gallop straight down to fence five, then another hell bent gallop straight on to fence six. So basically the course is a straight line.....fastest wins!!

I'm useless at drawing so somebody else who was there will have to draw it!!:lol:

That sounds like WICKED fun to watch! (I don't have the courage to jump at things like that! :D) Will definitely keep an eye out for it on TV though!
