We cannot come up with a name for the life of us - or at least settle on one. :) Yesterday we brought home my new girl - she's not yet 3 (will be at the end of the month), is a black and white pinto color, and is 1/2 Dutch Warmblood 1/2 Belgian.

Her sire is Art Deco. http://www.silverwoodfarm.com/artdeco.html and her mom is a registered Belgian mare named Painted Forest Bailey http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u306/Born2Event/DSCN1800.jpg

We'd love to have a name that incorporates something about Art Deco (whether it be Decoupage or Art Nouveaux) but it could be anything about art like a painter or something along those lines. We've come up with cute names that seem to fit her but she's just a very expressive and delicate mover, even though she is a draft cross. Everyone at the barn says that the cute names just don't fit her and that she needs something unique like she is! :) We've liked Zephyr, Zoe, Dot, and Tinks the best of the cute names.

what about deca-dance? (you said she's a light mover so playing off the word decadence)

maybe give it a couple of weeks and name that suits her will come to you?
friend and her BF rescued a starved mare whose name is absolute beauty. the prior owners called her beauty but all of us, except the BF, think abby suits her perfectly. however, the BF got it into his head that he wants her named after a greek goddess. it's been 7 weeks and still no name b/c none of the greek goddess names suit her. so in the meantime everyone is calling her abby ;)

I thought of Art Nouveau, then saw you had listed that in your OP. I like it. It relates to the sire and the English translation makes sense; New Art!

You could take the A and the N and use "An", "Anne" or "Annie" as a stable name.

There are some lovely names on these sites. If you don't find something there, may I suggest Leila for a barn name? It is pretty, graceful, and might fit.
