Hello, just seeing if folks out there have seen Grafenstolz or any of his offspring and could tell me anything about him-- what does he tend to throw as far as temperament? Pro or ammy ride? Any recommendations on what to avoid crossing him to or things to keep in mind when pairing him with a TB mare?
Thanks!!

great choice for TB mares - he's very correct and passes that on, has a lovely, mellow temper and three very good gaits, on top of obviously outstanding jumping potential. Tends to shorten length of back despite not being very square himself. he's very true to hie maternal heritage in what he throws, so very high quality movement, general athleticism and good natured characters. Excellent performance lines top and bottom. Most offspring are bay/dark bay, and tall (>16.1h). This is speaking from Trakehner and regular Warmblood mares (Baden-Württemberg and Hanover mostly) in Germany.

Thanks Maren-- it's looking like he's going to be my choice for 2010, glad to hear such great reports.

His owner says the price is $1700 for three doses LFG.
The price in the GOV directory is $2400 but that is not accurate.

Yes, I noticed the discrepancy. Never hurts to ask about it, I suppose.

Are there any of his babies on the ground here in the US?

Well plenty of reports here (from a number of sources) in the UK that he is very sharp, and a bit of handful.
I love his pedigree, especially the mother line. He has been very marketed over here so be interesting to see how his foals develop. I have seen a few that have been OK, but I understand he has been bred to some very good eventing mares so be interesting to see what he produces to them.

All stallion owners and agents are given the opportunity to proof their stallion pages before the Oldenburg stallion book is published. If the price is not accurate, then I assume the agent did not notify the editor. Also, that price is from Blue Mounds Equine Clinic. Judy Yancey is also now apparently going to carry Grafenstolz semen, so the OP might want to check with her and see what her price is.

There is a Grafenstolz filly for sale on the Trakehner web site. Here is the link:

Interesting, thank you. I am considering him for my Trak mare Schampus/KapriceIV(Pasteur).
How his frozen semen quality?
