Update: We have WAX! I think tonight is the night...

Rita is waxing now, large white "blobs". She bit me this morning when I attempted to get near her udder which is completely out of character for her, so I knew she was in a lot of discomfort.

She was pawing like crazy, and peeing in little drops at a time. She is Very anxious, way more than last time. Lots of circling her stall etc. Not at all subtle.

.. Off to the barn to keep an eye on her.

ah horsecrazy - I see you are in Ontario as well! :)

My Puchi Trap mare FINALLY has a bit of wax, but not nearly as much as your mare appears to! Those darned "Predict A Foal" strips that dont appear to work too well say she is 80% due to foal within the next 12 hours so I hope they are right!

I hope when we compare notes in the morning, both girls have safe deliveries and healthy foals to report ... :)

It's a girl!

Approx. 1:45am, Rita gave birth to a huge, long legged (for a haflinger!) filly. She was up and moving within 15 mins or so and within less than an hour and a half was attempting to trot and buck around the stall. She's gonna be a little fire ball by the looks of things!!

And yes, TrueColours, I'm in Ontario. I've drooled over your stallions many times over the years, but have never gotten into breeding... This is a friend's mare who I've been caring for and hope to buy her and the filly. I hope your night was pleasantly eventful and you have a healthy and happy mare and baby in the morning...

Off to catch an hour and a half or so before heading back out for chores.
