I know that Jill is planning on bringing Nightlight (the 2008 full sister to Faux Finish) for the yearling classes if all goes well and I believe she has another filly to show as well. So thats 2 more! :)

Here are a few pictures of her before she left to go to Jill's 2 weeks ago:

I don't have any of my own showing, but there will be one A Fine Romance filly, owned by Jacqueline Mars, showing in the non-TB 2 yr old filly class, named Ginger Rogers (AFR x Gia).

Right now, we have two, maybe three going.

Private Diamonds (owned by PrivateDiamonds on this board) will show in the 3yo Non-Tb class. She is by Private Key out of Chelsea Small Talk.

Sinsational will be presented in the Non-Tb foal class. She is by Silvio out of Chelsea Small Talk.

Hopefully, Silvation will get to show in the Non-Tb Yearling Colt/Gelding class. He became pretty sick after we gelded him and lost a lot of weight. Each day he looks a little better, so I'm hoping and praying he'll be ready by Sunday. His dam is Chelsea Small Talk and he was sired by Silvio.

Too bad there isn't a product of dam class. Chelsea will have three babies showing there this year (hopefully!).

Thanks Jill - This will be Nightlight's first show ... :) ... She's been such a good girl about everything new being thrown at her so far, hopefully she will regard this one as a typical "walk in the park" (literally and figuratively speaking!!! :D)

Are you bringing that lovely yearling colt you were SO high on last year that you bought from Naomi up here in Canada? I thought he would have come out at Devon but are you aiming for Upperville or Warrenton instead?

Seems to be the question of the hour... Belcort was scheduled to show at Devon, but being a late foal(June 19th), he unfortunately was too "gangly" and all legs. I decided to scratch him since many of his competitors were further along. He is going to be huge, and what a mover!

So, yes I am shooting for Warrenton. If not, there's always next year.

Thanks for asking :D

Most of us have a pretty good sense of humor about Upperville and can pretty much count on getting rain at some point during the week even when they forecast a drought.

For those of you coming from out of town, bring boots and rain gear, the forecast is for rain Wednesday through Saturday so it sounds like we will get more rain. Hope it isn't like the year with the helicopters!

I'll be taking my Apiro, Albi TWF, by my TB mare Pavones. This will be my first time taking one of mine there. I usually show my foals and mares at dressage breed shows. But this colt is a nice hunter type.

I live in VA near Upperville and as Patch Work said bring your rain gear. Upperville=rain.

I may not have any babies there..Jill and I have been debating about who is going to Upperville this year. One mare is safely in foal but not long enough for the trip.. another has just held on to her first carry too long to send a little one that far..

The folks at Upperville told me it would be mid-day (after the leadline classes?) so I'm not 100% positive.

Mom & I will be there early for Pony Breeding (of course) and the folks at Upperville will send a golf cart to fetch her from the jumper side of the show.

I know it's in the main ring, but that's about as sure as it goes.

Well, scratch us from the Upperville list... Who knew there was still a horse show in this day and age that didn't take faxed entries? We went through a big bunch of B.S. this morning (yes, I should have done entries earlier, I take full blame for that, but it wasn't a definite that we were going to be able to go until late last night) to find out that they did not take faxed entries. Can anyone tell me where in the prize list it says that?? Their answer was "well, we've never taken faxed entries"... Well, I've never been to Upperville, so how exactly would I have known that if it wasn't in the Prize List??? They were not very user friendly, and despite having the entries in hand by the entry closing date/time, albeit via fax, they were unwilling to work with a CUSTOMER. Hello, as far as I can tell they've had a crap week so far, why would they turn down an entry?? Well, c'est la vie. Their loss, not mine.

So, good luck to all those competing - wish we could be there!

Teresa Ramsay might be the photographer, and if that's the case, won't it be a while before pictures are available online? I seem to remember that being the case. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Congratulations to all who competed, and good luck to everyone competing today. My trainer took a couple of super duper barn kids up there, and one of them was lucky enough to catch a ride, and even get a ribbon in the Children's. Naturally, we want to see photos! I watched some of the live feed, and that big ring with all the beautiful trees made me wish I was there. It looked like what horse showing should be. So if anyone comes across a link to photos from Saturday, June 6, please let me know.

... sigh ... Jill Johnson's truck went mechanical yesterday so no Upperville for her crew. The Nightlight filly included who was going to be making her showing debut here today

Oh well. Better if happened close to home with NO trailer attached than at 3:00 am on the way to Upperville with 2 youngsters in tow ...

What a shame, when I saw her yesterday afternoon at the barn she was looking forward to the trek... we were laughing about the time when she took me to Norsire Farm and I didn't notice the red light on the way down.. but did on the way back.
I agree, better you find these things out close to home....

Good Luck to all those that are showing!

Thanks!!! I've had a really rough time with my husband's health & you just gave me a smile. I just looked at my trainer's ponies in the Pony Foal class- the grey & the bay with the star... they looked great! Her colt, Westwood Prophesy came in second!

Well, scratch us from the Upperville list... Who knew there was still a horse show in this day and age that didn't take faxed entries?
I'm sorry you couldn't come. I'm curious though, where do you see shows that accept faxed entries? I don't think I've ever come across one. It sure would make things easier if they did take them that way, although I guess you'd still have to mail the stall checks in on time.
