I've been planning on getting a baby pad to go under my Fleeceworks half pad for awhile and am just now getting around to buying one. I want to get a cute but clean looking and well-made pad. I looked at the Lettia baby pads online and those like nice, but how do they hold up? Are there any other good baby pad brands that come in cute colors and still hold up to everyday wear and tear?

This one!

I've only used it a couple of times so I can't comment on how well it wears (but I will say my other Lettia pads have held up very well to a lot of abuse:)). I'm trying to make my horse into a badass. If the polo wraps with the matching embroidery came in white and not black you'd better believe he'd be sporting those too. Anyway, it doesn't shift like other baby pads I've used. I also have a couple of Beval's that I like, but the Lettia ones are a little more substantial. The Beval ones I think I paid only $10 or so for.......

I agree! I LOVE these pads, and they look nice embroidered too! And they hold up to wear and lots of washing.

I prefer the plain white or black ones from Beval, but if you want cute ones Smartpak has a good selection of different colors.

I prefer Dover's baby pads, they are shaped in the wither area just like a regular saddle pad so fit better than those absolutely square ones that don't lie smoothly over the withers. I get all of mine monogrammed and they look great, also they are cheap and hold up really well, I throw them all in the washer and they come out looking like new.

My Franconia ones have held up the best of any baby pads.

Also I like the sort of "fluffy" Classic Equine ones.

Am I the only person who HAS to have the billet keeper strap or else the baby pad gets scrunched up under the fleece? This is my beef with baby pads.

I have that problem with a few of my pads too! I loved the Beval thicker baby pads for a while but my new favorite is the Dover baby pad that you can get on sale for $9.99! They are shaped over the withers and have a girth strap and they're a little thicker and sturdier than the other baby pads I've used. They are the only pads I'll buy now.

Which billet keeper strap? The one that goes from the front of the pad back to the billets or the one in the girth area?

I have found that on the rounder horses, the pads really shift if I don't use the girth keeper on the pad. I always cut the ones at the top that go back from the front of the pad to the billets off. They never seem to situate right around my shaped pad so I get rid of them.

The girth keeper, I only use on rounder horses. Most of the other horses - it stays in place on them. And this is with using Dover's quilted pads that have the spine.

Yeah, but do they come all the way down past the flaps? I no longer like the ones that are too short.
