Does anyone know a guy by the name of Andre Simpson? He lives around Washington D.C. I'm looking for him desperately because he was trying my saddle and all the phone numbers I have for him are leading to dead ends. If you know this guy and have any information where I can contact him please private mail me.

Thanks!

OH No.. Yeah , here in the DC/ NOVA area and I do not know him either.
Can you tell us what Discpline he rides , or who he trains with at all ?
More info might help us ...

if he was "trying" your saddle and did not return it, there is a big chance he didn't give you his real name....

I wonder what the circumstances of all this are.

I smell a big old rat here. . .fingers crossed that it's just a case of temporarily screwed up comms.

There aren't many Andre Simpson's in the DC Metro area and none of them are equestrians so far as I can tell. What is needed to figure this out is the original contact information.

The only one I see as I posted earlier is from NJ and no longer an active USEF member......

did you ship the saddle to him?? Did he give you a deposit??

I've ridden in MD just outside of DC for the past 25 years and worked in local tack store for about 6-7 years - and sorry to say I've never heard of him. I would suggest though contacting a couple of the tack shops around here - like the Surrey, Stablemates or Everything Equestrian, and the Loft at Meadowbrook. If he's from DC he would have hopefully hit some of those shops. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Best of luck

A description of the saddle and person might help...down here they have tack swaps every few months, one never knows what might turn up.

Stinky situation, I hope you get your saddle back!

No I did not ship it to him. I let him use it while I was at the Garden State show. From what I've heard another 4 or 5 people got saddles stolen as well. The information he gave me actually checks out with the yellowpages website. I've tried the Audi dealerships in the area to find him because he's some sort of service manager.
Thanks to all that have provided information I can go on!

He used to work at my Audi dealership in Tysons, but that was almost 3 years ago. I can see next week if anyone at my dealership has kept in contact with him. Checking the DC area Audi dealerships didn't turn up anything huh? I know he was originally from New York, maybe he went back there? I will let you know if I find anything out.

That would be great!! Please also pass the word around! If anyone knows this guy to please step forward. Any leads at all would be most helpful!

Thanks to all the COTHers out there!

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Just a thought -- often anyone in the Washington D.C. metro area says they're "from Washington." So he could live in Maryland or Virginia . . .

Huntrider-you and the other people all need to make out police reports for fraud and theft. The police will track him down very quickly, because with this number of thefts it's certainly felony level. And if the US mail was used the postal inspectors will find him very quickly. I'm not sure any of the property will be recovered, but if you haven't filed charges no one can help you and if you do locate him you certainly need proof of ownership.
