Our school's SCAAEP chapter (student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners) is visiting Lexington this coming Saturday. We'll be at Claiborne right before lunch, and we need a good place to eat in Paris. Any suggestions? If this isn't HR enough, I apologize!

I don't know about restaurants in Paris but, if you get to the horse park, I'll be scoring the dressage show.

Sorry, I rarely get up to that area. But you might call Claiborne and ask them. They would certainly know what is in the area and which restaurant might be a good match for your group.
Have fun!

Try Chowhound.com
The Black Tulip I think in Midway has been very highly recommended by several- not Paris but in the Lex. area. Good luck.

I love Sals/Malones/Aqua - there are several locations around town, and you can order from most of the menus at whichever location. YUM!! www.bluegrasshospitality.com

Varden's on Main St. in Paris is great....soups, sandwiches, quiche, etc....all very good! :)
(How many people? It's not a huge place, but they have about 8-10 tables, I believe.)
Migdalia's is across the street, very good, but pricier...Stonefence Bistro further down on Main is pretty good, too.
If you want Mexican, Perico's on the Lexington-Paris Pike is really good (you might want to call to make sure these are all open for lunch, though I know Varden's is for sure).

Just coming into Paris, there is an awesome, cheap, delicious, wonderful mexican restaurant called Perico's on Paris Pk. Go there, you'll love it I swear!

The Mexican rest. on Paris Pike is good, but it is a hop skip and jump into Lex where you could eat at Dudleys! or Desha's,(sp). when we get that far east we have to visit both.

If you go to the horse park be sure to see the Nokota horse, Blue Moon Rising who is their resident demonstration horse and listen to the presentation. They use him regularly for presentations, he's a popular horse and the rarest American breed horses, only about 150 of his kind left in the world. He's a beautiful blue roan.

Thanks everybody! We are leaving Claiborne at about 12:30 and have to be at Gainesway at 1:30, so we sort of need something "on the way."
I don't know if we'll have time to make it to the Horse Park, but have fun, everyone!
Susan P, I met Moonshine at Equine Affaire! My best friend brought her Nokota (Boyfriend). Did I meet you?
