Well, I just sent an e-mail to the show secretary. We are unfortunately scratching from the event this weekend. :(
My horse is sound, but has not been acting like himself while jump schooling recently. So, since we are not 110%, we are pulling out. Better safe than sorry!
Good luck to all competing this weekend! Please keep us updated! :)

Can't wait!! Maydaze is a blast!! Fingers crossed the week looks clear so footing should be PERFECT. Does anyone know where we ride dressage? KDA is going on at the same time so I think they have the lower rings.

The KHP calendar says that May-Daze will be in the "Johnson Ring, Walnut Ring, Hunter/Jumper Complex, and x-country course", so I'm guessing dressage in the Johnson & Walnut rings. Um... is there really still a Johnson Ring? If so, is that the new ring with the stadium seating used in Rolex?? Please, please tell me that my poor getting-used-to-this-whole-eventing-thing BNH won't have to do dressage in that huge, lot-to-look-at venue :(

Sonny (Sonny Side Up) and I are going, and it will be our second Training. I hope it goes as well as the first one at Chattahoochee which we won :D.

It will be Tessie's first recognized event, since she was so sick last January. WhoooHoooo!! We were supposed to move up to Novice this year, but will be going BN, again.

I certainly hope it's not the same place as the Rolex dressage w/ the ginormous grandstands... Poor Kobie will have a panic attack!

but the "johnson ring" may be the one at the top of the hill above the warm up arena. not positive about that, but I can't imagin they're going to let us trot around in the big oy stadium.

Yes, there's still a Johnson Ring, and it's the same one by the lake with the grandstand.

Sadly, not us. My awesome lil gray horse pulled a not so cool stunt in the pasture which resulted in a soft tissue injury in the ankle. Today is the first day I can ride him and here's hoping he's sound now.

I last ran at Maydaze/Mayfest 4 yrs ago. It was Rion's first HT/dressage test. We did dressage in the grandstand arena. He freaked. Hopefully he will be better this time around if we are down there.

Kate, you might want to give the Sec. a call, I think your time is a typo. Everyone else in your division seems to have Sat/Sun times!

Yeah Kate, I don't buy that. One of my friends is in your division and is riding Saturday. I think you've got a typo :)

As the big horse has done something to his stifle, well, I think that's where it is, vet's coming tomorrow. But we're for sure not jumping around this weekend. DH says I need to invent a drink and call it the "lame horse'. I'm not sure what else is going in there, but I'm starting with some Jack Black friday night.

ok, keep your fingers crossed for me then ! I've emailed Lori - hopefully its a typo and I can ride Sat with the rest of you guys. Give a little wave if you see an old lady riding a Tiny Buckskin Pony with disreputable braids. (And if we're jumping in the big arena, for sure, I will be shouting "WHEEEEEEE" over all the jumps and you'll hear me across the whole park - I've tried to stop it, but I can't help it - you'll understand when you see tinyP.)

May. 20, 2009, 09:52 PM
Phew - yes, I see what you mean - we're all in divided up into littler sections, and everyone is Saturday except me. Phew. It'll be fine !

FYI for those of us who were worrying about possibly doing dressage on our greenbeans in the "Rolex arena", we'll be riding in either the Claiborne or Stonelea rings and stadium will be in the Walnut ring. Yay!!! :D

there was a KDA show and those ring would be taken. Now I'm even more bummed out cause I had a stall in barn 10, I wouldn't have had to limp around on MY bad knee much at all (having my own little pity party here)

I'm pretty sure that KDA is using the dressage complex. My trainer called Maggie and got the info I posted.

I don't know what any of that means, but can I please, please, PLEEEAAASE jump my tiny pony around tiny jumps in front of the flippin ginormous stadium I was sitting in just a couple of weeks ago. Pulllleeessse ? (just imagine how cute the pics will be ! (and most likely I would bring home some of the famous new arena surface embedded in my bottom ))
