If anyone has the file for the competitor ride times this weekend, could/would ya' post them? The website doesn't do anything when you click on the "competitors" tab...at least from MY computer and its always worked before!!!! I've got several friends competing and want to go WATCH them be awesome! (hope their riders do as well  )

Imagine this, can't wait to email my daughters...their technologically challenged mother just figured out that Internet Explorer 8 isn't "eventing friendly" - at least at Run For It Farm...removed it - back on Explorer 7 and Chattahoochee Hills competitor stuff is coming in loud and clear! :D

Maybe that's my problem too! I can't get the menus to work. I"m not sure how to go back to Internet Explorer 7, though. haha

There is a "compatibility button" to the right of the "http://...". It looks like a document with a rip in the middle. If you click on it, then the drop down menus/links on the Chatt Hills website will be visible.

I removed it from my hard drive; use netscape to access windows website to download Explorer 7...lots of info but no real link for download. The icon was still on my desktop - when I clicked, dear ol' explorer 7 appeared...tried the Chatt Hills site and happy dance: competitors button was fine and dandy! Good luck!

As always, Ms D., you have the answer. Hope to see you soon; gas prices are looking like I can volunteer again this fall!

Her name is Dekorum. She's a pretty, dark brown mare competing in the Prelim Horse CH.
Michael Pollard is riding so I know she's in very good hands. :)

Gee, thanks... She's a lot of fun and very friendly. She also goes western and works cattle as well as any ranch-raised QH.
I'm hoping she has a good weekend out. :)

Great job today Flecken A! I was the show jumping in gate volunteer, but didn't want to bother you with chit chat before you went in. Fleck looked great and y'all handled a tough weather/footing day with class.

JER - I took some pics of your little mare on XC. She's a cutie! I got her over the big table at the beginning of the course and the turn to the corner. She looked great over both - I'll send 'em to you. It was pretty soggy out there, but overall the course rode beautifully. Definitely a championship course for the Prelim, too (well, for all the Championship divisions, really).
Did they end up in first? Or was it third? I can't remember - I was 'ribbon girl' too... I don't recall who ended up where. Congrats!

Thanks so much GreyDun! This is all news to me as I usually just hide behind the sofa until the competition is over.
This was only her 2nd-ever Prelim and a big step up for her to end her 1st season of eventing. Her first-ever HT was at Novice at River Glen last August (and she has competed very sparingly), so I'd say this season has been a tremendous success. :)

A speedy rise through the ranks? Novice last August, Prelim Championships this spring?
Whoa!

Whoa!
Before I'm tarred and feathered...
The mare is now 7. She did not compete at all until age 6.5. But she's had a carefully-managed upbringing as I bred her myself. For most of her life, she's lived outside 24/7 in a variety of climates and footing (she's very well-traveled!) and while she was started at 2, the 'work' she did for the first 3 years was all about fun and confidence-building. She learned to work cattle, trail ride, roping, etc. She started jumping small things in English tack at age 4 but it was just about fun and forward.
At 5, she had a big growth spurt and teething issues. Most of the time, we hacked around bareback in a halter. When her mouth wasn't sore, we did basic dressage and jumping exercises and more trail riding.
At 6, she went to the BNRs. After 6 months of basic training, she did her first Novice. She did 3 Novices total from Aug-Oct. Then she did 3 Trainings starting in Feb 09, followed by 1 Prelim, which she won. So she has done 8 HTs in her career. This is not a lot of competing for a 7 year-old with a very solid background in terms of training.
She's an exceptional athlete but so are both of her parents. She's working well within her abilities and the plan is to stay at Prelim through 09 with a CCI* in the fall -- and she'll be competing only as necessary to continue her education.

Don't mean to hijack but does anyone know if the preliim course was the same as the prelim course last month? We're planning on moving up this fall and I'm trying to figure out if the fall prelim course will be the same as it was this spring. Thanks.

My good friend rode Prelim and no, I dont' think it was the same as she said the water jump was HARD, HARD, HARD. She said more like Intermediate.

I've been hearing rumors that a DR was handed out to one of the OP riders on Saturday, but there's no DR penalties listed on the results. Anyone know anything?

The prelim course was very similar to the one in April. The Championship water was very hard, but that makes sense. Open Prelim had the same water as the April show.

Thanks so much for volunteering Debbie!!!! You guys were great!!!
And Thanks!! I was so proud of him for that round. I felt horrible though cause his back was bothering him a bit, but he kept going to the jumps so.....
And after my ride, his back felt better, so I think he just got tight.
Too bad I messed it up for XC, but oh well. We finished!!!!! And it was a super fun course :)
Thanks again to all the volunteers!!!

JER I think your mare is awesome! My mare didn't start undersaddle until she was 5. If I had more time to ride or send her to someone she would definitely be training/prelim by now as well. I think you are right on target with her; lots of good training just a few HTs as needed!

I was there doing the TR division...I was my first training in 5 years! My horse was amazing...completely saved my butt a few times. I had such a blast, despite the bad weather.
The event was awesome! Such a fun/great course and really really well run! I can't wait to go back there!
