Last January, many of you followed the ups and downs of my horse Tess, who was sick with pneumonia and spent twelve days down at Rood and Riddle.
I have worked for four months bringing Tess back into work slowly. We did not go to all of the wonderful Area8 Adult Rider clinics, which helped us so much last year. We did not go to the Spring Bay HT in April. (I am finding volunteer work to be quite fun!)
This weekend was our first outing of 2009. We went to the Sayre School CT. I want to thank all of the volunteers, who worked the show and clinic. They were so helpful, especially during the severe thunderstorm on Friday.
On Saturday, Tess had 32.6 penalty points on the dreaded BN test A, dressage test. :D We got three 8's. Before Saturday, I never had even one eight on that dressage test. (Thanks, Marci!) We were in first, until Tess pulled a rail in SJ (all my fault). We ended up third. Tess is a wonderful mare to put up with me.
Yesterday, we rode in a SJ clinic with Gegi Winslett. Fortunately, I was able to demonstrate why Tess pulled a rail (can you say standing up in my stirrups and hovering four inches off of my saddle?) Gegi fixed me, so our last course of the day was great!
I can't wait until MayDaze in two weeks. Now, maybe I won't get a DR for being a hovercraft during my jumping phases.
