Another naming thread... TIA

So... I have just gotten myself the cutest baby ever!!! Well, okay.. so maybe not, but he's pretty darn cute!!! He's a yearling and half-Appaloosa and half-trakehner. He's black with four white socks/stockings, a snip and a star, and white sprinkles on his butt. He's also slightly roman...foreheaded?!? It's cute!!!

Anyways... he is registered with the ApHC and USDA as Wapz Doo Wap, and Doo Wap respectively. His Dad is Wapuzzan (who is out of Wap Spotted, out of Wap Spot 2) and his Mom is Belen.

I'm torn..... I'm not super fond of the name Wapz Doo Wap as I tend to go for the goofy, silly, play on word type names... like Flecken Awesome and Miss Behavior. However... it's not like it's horrible at all. And.... I've had him for a week and the only thing that pops out of my mouth is "Baby" and "Dewey". Which... he really sorta does seem like a Dewey.

He's awfully smart, awfully curious and independent, but totally chill and calm. A "thinker" so to speak. He's super good and does all the things a good baby should (thanks to his last owners!) and is really just a good little guy. But he's not super goofy like Fleck (at least not yet) and he's not independent like Roany in that he's aloof... Just you know...off exploring instead of grazing, and playing around the barn in the tack trunks and such.

So.....I know that technically I can register him as anything with the USEA and I have some time, but....I don't want to start calling him Dewey and then decide later that I have a different name. I guess part of me says to just stick with Dewey cause it's cute and suits him and Wapz Doo Wap is a decent name. But...part of me wants a fun name!!! I thought about "super sonic" cause it sorta goes with "flecken awesome", but.. he's just not a sonic.

So... any ideas?! Or should I just stick with Dewey? Oh and..Whopper was another potential name if I stuck with Doo Wap, but he seems much more of a Dewey than a Whopper.

And...cause I can't help but show him off!!!! (which is probably the more likely reason for this thread than actually REALLY wanting name help...) Here's his pics!!!!

The first think that popped to mind was Dewey Dewey Doo (could be a play on Doobie Doobie Doo or, if you prefer, Scooby, Scooby, Doo).

Thanks guys. Though I think if I stick with Dewey, I'll stick with Wapz Doo Wap. I'm not a huge fan of Dewey enough to name him a show name from it, but like it well enough to name him that if I stick with Doo Wap.

I LOVE Doo Wap (but isnt it Du-Wop?). And Dewey. And I LOVE him!!! He is such a great cross, I love the sporty foundation appies, and think they make a great cross on WBs and TBs for sporthorses. Just awesome. Im so jealous!

Stick with just the USDA Doo Wap, then call him Dewey from that name! The other name that came to mind from Doo Wap was either Hanson (although I know that's Mmmbop, they kindof sound alike) or Motown. If I were trying to announce his name I'd have a terrible time with the "wapz" part... he's presh though!

I do love the previous poster's SpeckTacular. I think anything with speck is cute especially since it rhymes with Fleck. You could even play with it with the word "expect"

I actually got Dewey from a friend (who's also on COTH!)! She had gotten him through Rugby Creek Sporthorses! I was hoping to get his half-brother and it didn't work out so I was thrilled when Dewey went back up for sale. It helps too that my friends know I'm an appy freak :) But yep... I lucked out with my guys!

Hmm....Bethlehem...yeah, really doesn't help, but that's nice to know. Rugby Creek was calling him Boaz, which is Hebrew for swift.

But I think he's stuck with Dewey now.... and therefore he'll be Doo Wap so I don't have to change things.....
