I am thinking about attending Jacksonville university and I am looking around at some boarding facilities in that near area. I would not mind traveling a ways if it means my horse is getting better care and I would still be training with my current trainer in Gainesville so training is not an issue. Does anybody know of some nice full boarding facilities in that area? I appreciate all help :)

Hey, have you tried looking in St. Augustine? It's a bit of a drive from JU, maybe 1 hour, but if you don't mind that, they have some great facilities.

I am from the west coast, so I don't really know how far away this is from Jacksonville. I believe it might be about 45 - 1 hour south of you.

Our site is new and hasn't been up long but maybe we have something that can help you. HorseStableReview.com (http://www.horsestablereview.com) It's free to use and free to post barns and add reviews. We're working on a mapping feature which should be up and running in a week or so. If you know of any barns that aren't listed, please take the time to add them and share your experiences so moving and finding homes for our ponies will become easier. :)

Good luck! Congrats on school!

Whatever happened to the Houston's farm, Heaven Trees? Is it under McMansions now?

Not McMansions, but bunches of smaller houses! Those were the days when people had A shows at their farms.

We loved to show there. I remember when Hurricane David was coming though and everything was under water. They had the most wonderful pavilion between the 2 rings.

Skyway Farms (used to be and is more known as Skyway Meadows but is under new ownership) is a great boarding and training facility in Jax. The new owner has really turned the barn around.
