Which stallion, Baloubet du Rouet or Acorado, has more valuable offspring? Which of the stallions' offspring is more in demand and would possibly be easier to sell. Pros and cons to these two stallions would be great. Which stallion would you choose?

Acorado. I think his offspring were more sought after and it is a shame that he was lost so early in his breeding career. I don't think there is any frozen semen left, unless Uwe Bahlman still has some. I think both are a "hotter", more forward horse. Acorado is a better type, for sure.

I'd also pick Acorado. Baloubet is still around.

Even though I'm a big fan of the French horses and the French breed Selle Francais I must say Acorado in this case.

You are probably not getting much response as neither stallion has been used much in the US. Acorado due to the limited availability of the frozen semen and Baloubet due to his lack of popularity as a breeding stallion.

just found this thread....I have an acorado (gelding) who I am competing very sucessfully in dressage (ready for I-1 at 8) but who was bred to jump a house and can

his mare line was ritual-world cup

so in my n=1 experience --

forward definetly is an appropriate word, he never lacks for energy and as a young horse (8 now) was extremely exhuberant and still can be now

ive been told his "lookiness" is an A-line trait, but it is also what makes him a very careful jumper -- he's not going to touch stuff if he has any say

i would certainly be interested in another acorado if i was shoppping -- haven't come across many/any though

Acorado would be my choice. I have a small amount of Acorado frozen semen and think of it as liquid gold. I've been waiting for the right time and the perfect mare for him.
