Via a friend on facebook, Dow Jones was put down this week due to old age. What a wonderful pony he was.... Another one over the rainbow bridge.

May he rest in peace. Who were some of his riders?

What an awesome pony! One of the greats from the '80's and '90's. May he rest in peace.

He was a great pony. I remember Winn on him at Harrisburg winning the pony winner's stake.

Saw it on facebook too. He was one of the greats.

One of my good friends who grew up riding with Katie got to show him when she was a little girl. She said Katie used to make her sing a song the whole way around the course. :)

It always amazes me how so many many of the great ones live out their lives in a wonderful setting after the show ring is not an option. I love it!! I have some famous ones here on the farm right now. One gal is 34 this year, and she trucked her share during her show years. :D

I was lucky enough to hack him for Katie in the larges and then later her mom gave me lessons on him. I was like 10 at the time and felt so cool that I got to ride him.
How old was he?

I had the great opportunity to ride him for a year in the larges. He taught me a great deal! Katie Huber was a amazing with him. I am so happy that he was able to live out a long happy life after all his days in the show ring. Sharon Huber has always taken such great care of her older guys that worked so hard during their life. I know he is cantering on somewhere!

Anyone know what his breeding was?

He was by Cymraeg Rain Beau (Welsh) out of Thomirror (TB) by Sir Thomson. He's a full brother to Hidden Creek's Rain Fox.

Wow. I remember taking lessons on Count Tuscan with Winn on Dow Jones, in the early 80's. Winn must have been around 14; I......was not.

I just now saw this thread after being out of town for a few days. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. :( I leased him in 1988. He was so much fun to ride and a great pony.

What a great pony! What a great life he led and how many great people got to enjoy him and become better horseman because of him!
Godspeed Dow Jones!
