I just bought my first QH and I'm very excited about him. I have no pictures yet of my new boy, but I am so happy to see other QH's out there in the ring. I feel like every time I get the AQHA mag I want to ask them to feature something other than western. I was worried that maybe he couldn't do the work, but now I've had him for a few months I am less concerned.

As it turns out, I'm the one who "tweeted" about AQHA needing a Dressage photo. Thanks for helping us spread the word - I never expected to see it in the Chronicle Forums!

For those of you who have posted photos, thank you. We no longer need photos immediately, but we'd still love to see more. Please keep sharing them so everyone can see how great American Quarter Horses can be at Dressage.

If you haven't heard, AQHA has announced its approval to add Dressage classes to its official list. The change won't take place until 2010, but I think it's something we can all get excited about. Here's my guy.
He is a son of Blazing Hot, so he is actually western pleasure bred.

I got him as a resale project in Sept '08 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtMzR3Iz2jA). I have been a h/j rider most of my life, but after he basically lived out (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/meupatdoes/Jinxy/DSC03678.jpg) over the winter doing trail rides twice a week with no indoor we moved to a dressage barn two months ago and have been pursuing that.

I still plan on doing the hunters with all of my horses (and this guy is a cute little jumper), just out of a dressage 'home base'.
