We have a lovely filly who is in need of a D name! I feel terrible just calling her Baby or Filly all the time...

Her dam's name is Savannah - pedigree - http://www.paardenfokken.nl/pedigree.php?horseid=302967&maxniveau=5

Sire is Dressage Royal - (www.alsenhof-hengste-kothe.de) - http://www.paardenfokken.nl/pedigree.php?horseid=67420&maxniveau=5

FWIW, she is the first non-chestnut foal Savannah has given us. Her siblings names are (in order): Wyatt WF, Windsor WF, Don William WF and Dream Girl WF. Her personality is self confident, very outgoing, friendly and independent.

TIA.

I will keep thinking...of course you can get creative on all the spellings...this year we needed an "S" name. The birth was a bit scary but had a very happy ending. We said it was Surreal...so we named him Sir Real. Playing with spelling can be fun but also can be a pain at registration, lol. One mare we have and did not name is named Amayzing and called May. You can't immagine how often at inspections etc.. the "y" is left out of her name. Her AHS approvals also did this and I didn't catch it right away so her paperwork is misspelled but in the computer it's right...just can be a pain so be careful when changing spelling etc.. Of course, there are always people that will say..."hey you know you misspelled that foal's name don't you"....lol.

I think this a cool website for "D" names. I finally selected a D name for my filly from here: http://www.behindthename.com/nm/d2.php

Forgive me if any of these have already been mentioned. I really shouldn't take time for this, but it's fun:

How about 'Dressage Savvy'? And for a stable name (i don't know if you work the same in the U.S) Rihanna (i.e. Royal x Savannah = Royanna, sort of translates as Rihanna)

Very cute whatever she may be called :D

You guys are good. I'm copying a bunch of these down and will take them to the barn and try them on her for size. Here are some photos from our outdoor adventure this morning -

Now for your color peeps, I have a question!

Any ideas of what makes her left front more silver while the right front is black? The photo on the far right shows it best but in person they are truly two totally different shades...it's a new one on me, regardless of whatever it is called! :)

I always wanted to name a filly Desdemona (from Shakespeare's Othello) but my dang D-line mare had nothing but colts.

I think Donna Dolce is a cute name.... it basically means sweet lady in Italian. Or just Dolce by itself is pretty.

Does the kiddo have a name picked yet?

She does indeed!

We decided to combine part of the name of the person who helped to save her dam a few weeks ago with Dolce...so she is Dolce Elise WF! She is a bit of a pistol and bored with only her mom to play with, so we wanted to 'encourage' her to be sweet and obedient with a 'good' horse name. :)

Here is some video of her a couple of days ago - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Tt08rP4brY
