I don't post on this board often, but some of you may have known the mare U Clould's Gala. I am so sad to say that she and her '09 Quidam Junior baby (due in July) have crossed Rainbow Bridge. I never knew how hard it would be losing this wonderful mare, and had many wonderful moments with her even for the short time she lived at my farm; she was like a soulmate or a long lost friend to me. I knew going in having a mare of her age that her time was closer than not, but never thought I would be here in this moment nearly so soon. She was fit as a fiddle and in excellent health you would never have guessed her age by looking at her. She is sorely missed, but will be remembered by those whose lives she touched and her legacy will live on through her many offspring.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Hugs to you from afar, and plenty of friends greeting across the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm so sorry. My 1984 broodmare crossed the bridge last month. Her last foal was in 2008. I still miss her every day! I'm sure the old gals are happily galloping around heaven, their foal raising duties done, now watching over the younger generations including their many offspring. We'll see them again.

I am so very very sorry. Losing one is horrible enough but 2 at once and such a special mare as well is inconceivable ...

Thank you, Lisa for sharing your well-researched account of her offspring and grand/great-grand kids! I had no idea the heartbreak dreams could bring, but not all is lost, she lives well in her sons and daughters...I can see her in each and every one of them. This foal though...aghh...I was just soooo hopeful. Quidam crossed to one of the very best French mares...Narcotique...it's all about the motherline, she produced all international grand prix showjumpers and several stallion sons including Gentleman V(?) by Laudanum xx. Well, that's just it though, you never quite know what life will throw at you or for what reason. I'm sure I'll eventually figure that one out. But one thing I know for sure, the friends who have gone out if their way to be near me and show how much they care have meant the world to me...that is something that cannot be taken away. Thank you to all for your kind thoughts.
