A few months ago I bought one of those Ariat carry-alls to use as a show tote. Something for my mom to carry whatever I may need to the ring side. I've been to a couple shows since getting it, and I've only used it once. I carried my pony's fleece in it. (http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2071/39/86/765875322/n765875322_5504959_5523.jpg) I never seem to need anything once I'm already at the ring. Now it's become a purse.

So, what do you carry in your show tote? What do you end up needing when you're there?

I actually use a duffel bag that I won a bunch of years ago - I just sling it over my back when I'm heading to the ring. I can fit a lot of stuff in there. I usually have:

-All my different kinds of spurs (nubs, short ones, long ones, pizza cutters, rubber balls, and normal length ones)
-A crop
-Extra number strings
-Extra hair ties
-One of those "quick shine" boot shiners so that I can dust my boots off at the ring
-2 towels
-Pepto Bismol tablets, ibuprofen, Band-Aids, tampons, Neosporin, etc.
-Water bottle (sometimes I remember to fill it...)

That's usually all I carry on me. My mom has a backpack that has more stuff for Nikki in it - rubbing alcohol, hoof polish, etc. I don't usually need everything in there, but there have been times where it came in very handy!

I have the same ariat bag but it the khaki color. I put spurs (if they are maybe needed), a few rags for boots and horse's face, leather wipes, water, hoof polish for after the warm up ring, and an extra stick if I'm using one. Also, hairnets and bobbypins in case I need to re-do my hair, and black electrical tape, which has come in handy many times years throughout the when a tall boot zipper breaks and you have to wrap it right before the class starts.

I have a jet pack. Yes, you read that correctly. My barn calls my Beval jumper backpack a jet pack. ;) It has a lot of room in it and keeps things very organized.

I haven't shown in over a year and cannot even remember much of anything, but I know I always used lots of towels.

Just wanted to say that I love your tote bag. It's so cute!

Thanks! I love it too! I saw it a year a go but couldn't find it in any stores, when I went back to the store where I had seen it they told me they never sold them. I thought I was going crazy! When I eventually found it again, I bought it mainly just to prove to people that I'm not actually insane.

Thanks for replying everyone! My mom and I discussed the fact that I need to be more organized at shows, so the lists have been giving me lots of ideas.

I have the same bag in dark red
It's been so long since I've shown, I can't remember what I put in it, though. I kept 1 bag for me, and 1 bag for the horse, so that I didn't get hoof oil on the rag for my boots or my extra collar.

Haha ashamed of your murse? My dad carries a bucket, fits everything in and doubles as a ring water bucket in case the beast gets thirsty, plus it looks a little more "manly"

ELECTROLYTE powder for you to add to water. I use "eload", but I'm sure there are many other brands.

I have been dehydrated at shows in the past and it's not fun!
