Has anyone purchased one of these girths? The concept is so intriguing. Please share your experiences! I'm thinking of purchasing one for a friend's birthday
Thanks,

I've had mine for two weeks, and lovelovelove it. I don't usually succumb to ads, but theirs was so great that I had to try it. (How do they manage to make it look sexy and not gimmicky!?!) I ride a lot of different types of horses & ponies, and generally use the Walsh or Professional's Choice girths for everyday use, because they're fairly adaptable--double-ended elastics--and clean up easily, and don't rub.
But this girth is even more amazing. The spring-loaded buckles aren't too springy to be a problem, but they do make it slightly easier for me to tighten my girth from the ground or in the saddle (I have wrist/arm problems). And I like the ergonomic shape, or whatever you call it. This girth is even easier to clean than my other girths, as there is nothing (i.e. fabric) for hair to catch on. Am seriously considering replacing my other girths with this one (44; 48; 52; 56!). Oh, and the price is quite fair....
I've been waiting for the opportunity to rave on it! :)

I have never heard of this girth, what makes it so great? Do you have a link for the company?

Here's one place that is carrying it, so you can see what it looks like:

I've been thinking of trying one, so will watch this thread for any other reviews - thanks!

Thanks for your rave! I might purchase one for myself as well as the birthday girl. Does that double elastic make a difference in the sizing? I've never used a double elastic girth.
That spring action is what really interested me. What a great tool for tightening while mounted.
Thanks!! Rave on!!

Darn! Guess they do not make smaller ones for those who do not own the big horses? My mare takes a 34 max...

oh what a COOL idea!
i have a girth made of similar material with regular buckles that i love, super easy to clean and doesn't rub, but those buckles are just BRILLIANT. especially for girthing up fatty-mc-fat-fat's that like to blow up their bellies.
really tempted to try it!

I went to go check it out yesterday, liked the way it looked, fully planned on buying one... Needless to say I walked out empty handed... all the 46-48's were MIA...
I have to buy all new girths, my horse went from a 54 to a 46 (yes he was a little fat lol) Now, we're healthy and happy...

I wondered about this girth -- I'm getting over tendinitis in both elbows and am still asking for help almost every time I tighten my girth -- I have a tool that helps, but I only use that from the ground --
Does this girth make it any more difficult to loosen the girth after a ride? I have a hard time loosening the girth too --
My gelding has very sensitive skin, so I worry about girth galls -- Is anyone with a sensitive skinned horse using this girth daily? -- How long have you been riding in it?

I've ridden with mine for two weeks, one pony being an arabian cross who seems to be somewhat sensitive. She reacted to sweating under the saddle pad, but has not had any reactions to the girth. That's probably because I don't have it tight enough (see below!)
When loosening the girth, you have to apply a small amount of pressure to keep the buckle open. I was leery of this, but find it's not much different than loosening a normal girth, as I usually hold the buckle slightly open while removing from the billet strap (even a normal girth will slip into a hole accidentally).
I'm known for not tightening my girths because of my arms/wrists [four surgeries later!]. It's generally anywhere from just-barely-touching-belly to hands' width (yes, four inches!) below belly. I find I'm able to tighten it about a hole or two snugger than normal, so that the girth doesn't flap (has anyone else actually heard their loose girth slapping against their horse's sides??? this only happens on one pony though...). Don't know whether it will help anyone else.
Lettia also makes a Clik dressage girth; the hunter girth goes to 38".
Didn't notice a difference in sizing from my normal girth.
Hoping that everyone else has positive experiences. It's not a be-all, end-all supergirth, but it's a cool product. :)

The thing I was concerned about was whether the buckle would be bulky under the flap, but it is actually not much bigger, if bigger at all, then any other buckles! What a great idea! They do come in Dressage sizes 22"-34" and Long sizes 38"-56".

Does the longer style of this girth only come in brown? I really like this concept, but I need a black girth.

Now I want one (and I don't exactly need one).
Why didn't I think of it?

Got one about the middle of May. Great girth. Easy to tighten from the saddle (or the ground, for that matter). So far my cleaning has consisted of either wiping it off or hosing it off. Like the fact that it's contoured, not too thick, and has elastic on both ends. And, Ms Trainer has pronounced it show-worthy.

This concept is a miracle. At 65, with weakening hands due to pinched nerve in neck and rheumatoid arthritis, the days of tightening a girth while astride were over. TIL NOW. Thank you Lettia for making my life so much easier and safer! I LOVE this girth. What a cinch (no pun intended)!

Oh crap, now I want it. I am such a klutz about tightening the girth from the saddle; I can do it but it takes me forever and I slip a couple dozen times in the process. This would make me look like less of an idiot.
