my just turned (in april) two year old is 16.1. When he was younger.. I thought he was only going to mature about 16.2.... so I think I will have to re-think that.

My coming 2yr old (June) is 16.2HH, her sire and dam are both 16.2HH so I was surprised she is already this big.

I have a Routinier gelding coming two June 25. He is 15.1 3/4h.

Mom is an imported Trak who was a twin. She is 15H plus so I think this boy is going to be a nice size, 16H or more.

My Hano cross filly was 2 Friday (April 24th) and is every bit of 16.1.

Dam was 16.1 and sire was 16.3. If filly stops growing now and just fills out I will be fine!!

Here she is (bay on right) grazing with my 16.1 TB...http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2631853360101086842FQEDSe?vhost=good-times

I have a 2 yr old colt - 1/2 Swedish WB (sire is 16.3) out of a clyde/hackney mare that is 16.2. He will be 2 may 20th. I just measured him on sunday and while bum high, he is 17hh 1/2" at the withers. Guessing that he will hit pretty close to 18hh. He still has a lot of filling out to do.

We test bred him to a mare a week ago that is 16.2 and he towered above her.

We have two on the farm right now, and they are very different!

The All the Gold filly is almost 16.1h. Dam was 16.1h ish. She is going to be tall!

Filly by Genuine is only about 15h. Dam was 15.2 I think, and I think the stallion is 16h? She is going to be petite obviously. 15.2h would be good at this point. LOL

One is 16.0h - a Stedinger colt out of my mare Wintermaske
The other is about 16.1h - a Fabuleux filly out of my mare Rubizza

My guess is both will be 16.2 give or take a smidgeon

I should have mentioned that my almost 2 year old has a 16.1 TB dam and a 16.2 1/2 Dutch sire, as I said he is 16.1 1/2 and looks like he will be taller than his sire by a bit.

If horses are bottle fed will they develop slower? What are the dangers physically speaking with these horses?

My filly was two on April 17. She's just over 13 hands right now, and I'm hoping she'll finish up as a top of the line large pony (she's a purebred Arabian). We'll see - if she ends up in "honey" territory it won't be the end of the world, since she's a keeper and I'm only 5'1", but I'd really like her to stay pony-sized just to give us more options for her future.

My filly was 15.3 as a just-turned 2yo which should have meant she'd end up at 16.2. Problem is she's a full up 16.2 as a just-turned 3yo and definitely isn't finished growing.

My orphan colt who was bucket fed seems to be about 6 months behind in his growth. But he was an emergency c-section, dead on arrival and revived, and his dam was put down on the table after the c-section.

Mine's a purebred Arab, born in June: 14.3h front/15h behind. He should finish out a nice size for an Arab, 15.1 or so, I hope.
