Free Dressage Horse - Resumes Accepted

11 yo 16.1 irish gelding with talent, presence and sparkle. Trained to 2nd level as an event horse, with the power and carriage for much more. This horse is very athletic, uphill and intelligent. He has a gorgeous, refined look and a short, strong back - you'd guess modern WB, not ISH. He is sharp and loves to work. He is perfect in the barn and the trailer, loves his turnout, and hacks alone and in company.

I'm "taking resumes" from people who would like to have him - his next owner needs to be a good rider with a good trainer. If you are sensitive, fit and have a good position you can ride him for hours, practice everything, and move forward with your dressage career.

He is currently located in Aiken, SC and has been laid up for the past month in small turnout. He will be ready to ride again by late summer and should be unlimited in his dressage potential - if you want to jump I guarantee you will be dissapointed. If I could have sorted it out for long enough to sell him into the eq or event world I would have done it. Don't even think about it.

Hi All - Here's an update.

Main Point: He has some chronic damage to the small ligaments in his right front pastern - ultrasound specialist believes they small and are healable without stem cell or shockwave and that he will return to full work, including jumping. I don't buy the jumping part so want to find him a non-jumping home. He has been sound to do dressage and lots of trot conditioning with these tears for several years - they were missed by a series of fancy vets and an MRI which reached 1/2 an inch too low.

I will provide whoever really wants him with all vet records.

He is now in a paddock in Aiken, SC resting. Tack walking can start July 1st.

He's a super, hardworking, balanced, powerful horse who loves to work and excell. Also beautiful and athletic. He's sharp to ride and 100% enthusiastic - sensitive and forward. He has good capacity for collection, is confirmed in his lateral work, offers a change while jumping but has not yet learned changes in dressage bec our tests have lots of counter canter. Dressage people would have taught him the change long ago.

Medium trot still scores a 6 with the comment "trots higher not longer". Medium canter scores and 8, comment "well balanced, good length of stride".

I imported this horse from Ireland 5 years ago. He's my dream horse, but I am a professional eventer. It breaks my heart but he is better off doing a dressage job.

I would like to give him (for free and for permanent) to someone who will use him and take good care of him.
