Clyde is 12 this year, and is approx. 14.3hh.
He HAS measured as a large pony before, but never got the card due to some untrustworthy people screwing up paper work. He has been barefoot since late '07, so, he potentially could measure under. I'm not sure, and I'm not going to guarantee it. He is very dainty, and not big bodied at all (wears a size 66" blanket, and a 44/46" girth). Very fancy, and a cute mover/jumper.

He has not been ridden since late '07, due to the fact that him & I do not click whatsoever under saddle. He needs a confident rider to tell him 'it's ok' and to get him over his spookiness.

He has been on pasture board up until a month ago. I'd prefer him to go to a situation where he could be out as much as possible, as long as he had a shelter of course. He does fine in a stall, and at his current barn is in one for a few hours a day. He also tends to do better in a lower activity environment.

When he was going well, he was doing 2'6" courses with auto changes. He hasn't done this in years, so would obviously need a refresher course. He has always been very brave o/f, despite being spooky, and never stopped at anything.

UPDATE 6/9/09: Clyde is available for free lease again, see update post #10. He has been ridden since Memorial Day with no issues, and apparently has been great for the kid! He's located in Lovettsville, VA 20180. It's in Northern VA.

Would prefer he stay in the VA/NC area (but may let him go further if it was a perfect situation), and references will be required. Please email me at kady12905@gmail.com
with any questions.

Here are a few pictures of him when he was going really well u/s:

Such a cutie. I hope you have good luck! Off subject....the shot of him w/o saddle/rider looks SO familiar! Were you trying to place Clyde awhile back? Or did you get him here from a giveaway lease/own? I swear I've seen that gorgeous boy before!

Well, I've posted about him quite a bit here (since I got him actually), so you may have seen it in one of my posts. It's one of my senior pictures actually, from back in late '04.

I did offer him for free lease awhile back, but it was as a companion only because he needed a mental break. He's had that now and is ready to go back to work, although he's quite content with being a pasture pet!

My BO messed around with Clyde on the lunge line this week and said he was great, didn't do anything silly. She plans on getting on him this week or next as long as the weather cooperates.

After talking with my Dad, I have decided that if I found the *perfect* home, I will give Clyde away for free. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

I'm pretty sure Clyde has a home lined up, but wanted to bump this just in case it falls through. He is still available as of 5/22/09.

I am very interested in your gelding. I have been on the look for a while now and he seems like the perfect project. He'd live in a outdoor situation with plenty of pasture to roam and be a horse and go to work in a quiet environment.

Let me know if your home doesn't work out for him!
THank you!!

Through no fault of his own, Clyde is available again. He ended up being too small for the girl that he was being leased by, so it's just not going to work out unfortunately. They LOVE him, and are very sad at this whole situation, as am I, because they were a great home.

Anyway, they said they have NO complaints, and that he's been great out on the trails. He apparently went through a creek the other day and was great (he followed another horse), which really surprised me. I think he's on his way to being a good little trail horse, from what they're telling me!

So, if anyone is interested, please let me know. The lady said there is no hurry, and I don't think she'd have an issue if someone wanted to go to her property to try him. He's located in Lovettsville, VA 20180. It's in Northern VA.

I'm looking for a pony for my daughter to show...I have a 4 year old, but he's too inexperienced for her. I would like something that is safe and fun....do you think Clyde would work....she is an advanced beginner rider. I have a small, private barn in Northern VA.
thanks.
