Ok, have decided to take the leap and take my Lordanos/Landor S/Zeus filly to some DSHB shows this year. Soo, do you think that I can find any? LOL

I have found DSHB @ Waterloo, MI July 13,2009.

That's all. Anyone know the link to a list, or even what region I am in?

I think that I am just tired and Googling the wrong thing!

You should be able to search the USEF site for the 2009 competitions in your area/zone.

This didn't work. I don't know what zone that I am in and the USEF site doesn't list DSHB as a search (even though you can search by Hunter Breeding competitions).

Could this be it? But if so, why isn't the July 13th show on there?

For the USDF you are in Region 2.

Check the listings in Region 2 for "D". Those shows are offering DSHB classes.

If you go to Calendar-->2009-->region 2-->BC Championship series, you will get all the shows that offer USDF sporthorse shows. Hope that helps

PS sometimes the shows haven't sent in their info to USDF yet. I had that happen earlier this year. My handler knew of a show but it wasn't in USDF's calendar (an mid to late June show). A few weeks later it was added to USDF's calendar.

Iron Horse:

I assume by DSHB you mean: Dressage Sport Horse Breeding? as opposed to Hunter Breeding?

Because, if you do, try the USDF site (United States Dressage Federation) as opposed to the USEF site: www.usdf.org (http://www.usdf.org).

Once you are there, click on Calendar, then Competitions and Results. Then, under Region, click 2 (You are in Michigan, so you are a proud resident of USDF's Region 2 :).)

You should come up with the list of shows (all shows, both performance and in hand) for your region for the year) - here's a link:

http://www.usdf.org/calendar/competitions.asp?regionpass=2&Typepass=All&YearPass=2009

As you scroll down through the list, look on the right hand side of the column, under the little green, underlined word Results. You'll notice a bunch of letters for each show, which are the key to what the show offers. Look for a single, capital letter D - that indicates DSHB show.

I haven't had a chance to scroll through the whole list, but it looks like here are the first two in your Region:

Cincinnati Dressage Tradition Summer Breed Show (7/30/09)
www.cincinnatidressagetradition.com (http://www.cincinnatidressagetradition.com)

and

Sorensen Park Dressage and Sport Horse August I (7/30/09 - 7/31/09)
www.sorensenpark.com (http://www.sorensenpark.com)

Hope that helps a little and gets you started...Good luck at the shows! :)

(I see that everyone else was typing while I was typing! :) Everyone's in "show mode" now that it's spring! :) )

Thanks! You guys rock!

Now, what is the difference between Region 2 and East Central series? Nothing? Any idea how some have a D and some have a BC? Isn't BC breeder's championship...............

I think that may have been out of this for a bit too long!

Looking quickly. I usually go to their calendar and click on the Breeders Championship Series because that link will give you ALL the shows that are sporthorse breeding and which you can qualify for the Championship. Thus, it may be slightly different if you click on the Region 2 link (I don't like to do that because you get all the Dressage shows too that don't have sport horse breeding).

In looking at my region's sporthorse shows, it seems like they use the "D" and the "BC" somewhat interchangeably. And I am very familiar with my region's shows, only DAD is a Championship. Your region may be the same in using both D and BC.

USDF performance regions and DSHB regions are different. To find DSHB shows in your area, go to the USDF site and select Calendar>Competitions>Breeders Championships. Then select your region - Michigan is in the East Central series, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Wisconsin.

As already mentioned, you will see "D" beside the show names - that stands for Dressage Sport Horse Breeding. If the show also offers USDF Breeders Championship classes (most of the DSHB shows do), you will see "BC" beside the show name.

These are our shows at Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse City. This season we have 3 weeks of H/J with HB classes and then dressage the following week with DSHB. We should have the dressage prize list on the website soon. We are just finalizing our FEI Freestyle Challenge class and prize money details. Stalls will be available for breed only horses at a reduced rate for Saturday arrival to make it easier for the young horses to just pop in for the weekend. Hope you can join us!
